“Coach Matta and his staff, I think the reason I can trust them is because my brother (Patrick McCaffery) goes there now. He just grad transferred there,” Jack McCaffery told On3. Also, I didn’t have the best spring, and they had the opportunity to drop me like some other schools and they didn’t. This summer when I started to play a lot better, some new schools started to reach out, but I felt like staying loyal to them was the right thing to do. I think they’ve been very honest throughout this whole process.” Jack McCaffery was found guilty of failing to yield to a pedestrian last year in a May 2023 accident that killed a man. He was fined $1,000 and lost his driver’s license for 180 days.
