Bloomington North and Bloomington South Stay Unbeaten Edgewood Falls to 0-2

Week 2 of the High School Football Season saw Bloomington North and Bloomington South Go to 2-0 and Edgewood fall 0-2. Bloomington North beat Bedford North Lawrence 55-34 in a game that was delayed for half hour because of lightning.  The Cougars had 504 yards of offense while the Stars had 481. Bloomington North will Travel to Terre Haute South this Friday at 7:30 PM for a Conference Indiana matchup. Bloomington South beat Martinsville 45-20. Indiana University Commit Dasan McCullough caught a touchdown pass, a fumble return for a touchdown and had an interception for a touchdown that was called back due to an illegal block.  The Panthers will travel to Terre Haute Friday to Face Terre Haute North at 7:30 PM. Edgewood fell at Monrovia 48-12. Monrovia led 34-0 at half before The Mustangs got on the board with a 4-yard touchdown pass from Jakob Lanning to Andrew Good with 8:31 Left in the 3rd quarter. The Pair hooked up with 1:58 left in the quarter on a 5-yard touchdown pass. Edgewood remains on the road this Friday when they face Indianapolis Washington at 7 PM.

Indiana Men’s Soccer Beat Norte Dame in Overtime

Indiana Men’s Soccer beat Norte Dame 3-2 in overtime in South Bend Friday Night. Bloomington South Grad Ben Yeagley scored at 91:38 Mark to give the 2nd ranked Hoosiers the season opening win. Yeagley is the son of Current IU Coach Todd Yeagley and the Grandson of Former IU Coach and Hall of Famer Jerry Yeagley. Todd Yeagley got his 150th career win at IU, He is now 150-50-40 in 12 seasons in Bloomington. Indiana is 32-9-4 all time against the Fighting Irish and is undefeated in 5 straight dating back to 2016. The Hoosiers got the other two goals from Tommy Mihalic in the 34th and 87th minute. Indiana will Host Butler on Tuesday night at 8 PM at Bill Armstrong Stadium.  

Indiana State Kicks Off The 2021 College Football With 26-21 Win Over Eastern Illinois

Indiana State beat Eastern Illinois 26-21 in the first college football in the state of Indiana for the 2021 College Football Season at Memorial Stadium in Terre Haute.  The Sycamores played for the first time in 644 days due to the COVID 19 Pandemic.  Indiana State has won their last three games going back to the end of the 2019 season and has beaten the Panthers the last three in the series. Eastern Illinois leads the series 43-41-4. Bloomington North Graduate Kaleb Brewer got a sack for a four-yard loss. Brewer is a redshirt senior for the Sycamores and one of four Bloomington Natives on the Roster. Bloomington North Grad Freshman Bailyn Murphy along with Bloomington South graduates Redshirt Freshman Garrett Hickman and True Freshman Maddix Blackwell did not see any action in Saturday’s games. Indiana State plays at Northwestern on Saturday September 11th at 12 PM on the Big Ten Network.

Indianapolis Colts Beat Detroit Lions to End Preseason 3-0

The Indianapolis Colts beat Detroit Lions 27-17in Detroit last Friday Night to end the NFL Preseason 3-0. Jacob Eason was 10-17 with 74 yards passing. Sam Ehlinger was 3-3 for 63 passing before leaving the game with a knee sprain and will miss the next 5-6 weeks. Brett Hundley was 6-12 for 52 yards with a touchdown and interception. The Lions led 17-7 after three quarters and the Colts scored 18 4th quarter. Deon Jackson had a rushing and receiving touchdown and Rodrigo Blankenship added four field goals.  The Colts will open the regular season Sunday September 12th when they host the Seattle Seahawks at Lucas Oil Stadium for a 1 pm kick and televised on Fox.
