Bloomington bank robbery on Southside
The JC Bank on Bloomington’s Southside was robbed yesterday and a nearby school was subsequently placed on lockdown. Shortly prior to noon on Tuesday, a man wearing a face covering demanded money by handing the teller a note. The man then left the bank on foot with the money and the teller activated the bank’s panic alert. Because of its proximity to the scene, Bloomington High School South was locked down until police were able to ensure the school grounds were safe. Parents of students were notified by email of the situation. The thief is still at large and Bloomington Police request anyone with information to contact them.

Indianapolis man is accused of waving around a gun inside a KFC
32 year-old Anthony Williams, was arrested and charged with intimidation and criminal recklessness after being accused of waving around a loaded gun at an Indianapolis KFC restaurant. After arriving to pick up an order, Williams got into an argument with staff members because his food was cold. After the manager said it was because he was late to claim his food, Willians stated he was in a gang a retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and returned to the store, demanding either a refund or warm food. He now faces up to six years of cold prison meals.

IU Museum of Archaeology opens
Saturday, October 19th from 12:30 to 5:30pm is the Grand Opening of the Indiana University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and the opening of the William Mathers Gallery, which will feature two new exhibitions: Whispers from the Divide and Divine Adornment: Community Stories of Belonging. This event is entirely free . Elizabeth Smart to speak at ‘An Evening of Light’
An Evening of Light, featuring Elizabeth Smart will take place Saturday at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis to raise awareness about its message of the power of forgiveness. “An Evening of Light” begins at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and will feature an address by Elizabeth Smart, A Best-selling author who was abducted at the age of 14 and held captive for nine months. Open reception for Martina Celerin at Bloomington Arts Alliance
The Bloomington Arts Alliance is hosting an open reception for Martina Celerin, their featured artist of the month. The event is at their space in the College Mall on Friday, September 28th, starting at 6pm. The exhibition, entitled “On the Cusp of Autumn,” will run until October 30th
