Fishers Native Jalen Haralson announces Commitment to Notre Dame Men’s Basketball Class of 2025 La Porte La Lumiere guard Jalen Haralson chose Notre Dame in a live announcement Wednesday night. The 6-foot-7 guard, a long-time recruiting target for Indiana, chose the Fighting Irish over the Hoosiers and Michigan State. Haralson is the No. 13 player nationally in the 247Sports Composite rankings for the senior class. He becomes the second player to commit to Notre Dame this week from the state of Indiana, joining Cathedral forward Brady Koehler, another class of 2025 player. Leading into his announcement, here’s what Haralson told On3’s Joe Tipton about Notre Dame. “Coach (Micah) Shrewsberry, I think, is one of the best basketball coaches in America,” he said. “We talk basketball all the time, the NBA Finals; we don’t even really talk college basketball. He’s a brilliant mind, and I feel like I have a brilliant mind at my age, so it’s good learning from a coach like that. We watch a lot of film, like ball screens, and he’s already helped me a lot with my game.”

Indiana had pursued Haralson since his freshman season at Fishers High School, where he played his first two seasons before transferring to La Lumiere in La Porte. Haralson is considered a strong candidate for the 2025 McDonald’s All-American team and has played in various USA Basketball events over his prep career. Haralson is the No. 13 player nationally in the 247Sports Composite rankings for the senior class. He also considered Auburn, Duke, Gonzaga, Kansas, Missouri and Purdue. Indiana currently has one player committed in the class of 2025. Trent Sisley, a 6-foot-7 forward, pledged to the Hoosiers earlier this week. The Hoosiers are still involved with several other prospects in the senior class, including Braylon Mullins, Mikel Brown Jr., Eric Reibe, Bryson Tiller and Nate Ament.
