Indiana Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Murray State and Kansas State

Indiana Women’s Soccer posted two shut outs over the weekend beating Murray State 4-0 at home and Kansas State 3-0 on the road. In the Murray State game Paige Webber got a hat trick, The Junior Transfer from Michigan State had just 1 shot going into this game and scored at the 43:49, 64:23 and the 71:11 mark. Jordan Levy got the scoring started at 28:27 mark for her fourth goal of the season. Jamie Gerstenberg posted her 3rd shutout she also shares one in the SE Missouri State where the backup goalkeepers played a part of that match. In the Kansas State game Anna Bennett scored at the 4:33 mark followed by Avery Lockwood at the 35:19 mark and Jen Blitchock at the 44:33 mark. Jamie Gersetnberg posted her 4 shut out. The Hoosiers are 6-1-1 on the season and will host Michigan State this Sunday at 1 pm inside Bill Armstrong Stadium.

Indiana Men’s Soccer Ties Akron 1-1

Indiana Men’s Soccer played to 1-1 draw before 3,399 at First Energy Stadium in Akron Ohio Friday evening. Daniel Munie scored in the 65:39 mark. The Zips responded quickly with a goal from Diogo Pacheco at the 67:40 mark. Hoosiers had 17 shots to 16 for Akron. IU had seven shots on goal to four for the Zips. Akron made six saves to three for the Hoosiers. The Third ranked Hoosiers are 3-1-1 on the season while the 16th ranked Zips are 4-0-1. Indiana host Rutgers this Friday evening at 8 pm inside Bill Armstrong Stadium.   

Bloomington Speedway Crowns Four Winners Friday Night

On the second to last night of racing at Bloomington Speedway four winners were crowned on the Red Clay. Jadon Rogers won the 410 Non-Winged Sprints. Michael Nail won the Bombers. Bradley Sterrett won the IMCA Race Saver Sprints and Brian Pollitt won the Hornets. The final night of racing for the Bloomington Speedway will take place this Friday Night. Super Stocks, Hornets, 410 Non-Winged Sprints and Midwest Mini Sprints Association will be on the card. For more information visit www.racebloomingtonspeedway.com.

Bloomington South 3rd Bloomington Tied For 10th In Football Coaches Poll

After beating crosstown rival Bloomington North 28-14 Friday night Bloomington South is ranked 3rd in the Indiana Football Coaches Association Poll. The Panthers were ranked 5th but moved up to 3rd after 2nd ranked Fort Wayne Dwenger and 4th ranked Zionsville both lost. Indianapolis Cathedral is 1st followed by Valparaiso, Bloomington South, Fort Wayne Dwenger, Decatur Central, Fort Wayne Snider, Zionsville, Mishawka, Kokomo, Bloomington North and Castle. Bloomington North and Castle are tied for 10th this week. The Cougars were 10th last week as Castle moved up from 12th after 11th ranked Michigan City lost to Valparaiso this week.  In Class 3A Owen Valley who dominated Edgewood 54-7 Friday Night is tied for 9th and the Mustangs opponent South Putnam for this Friday is ranked 11th in Class 1A.
