Indiana Men’s Golf Finishes 6th at Fighting Illini Invitational

Indiana Men’s Golf finished 6th at the Fighting Illini Invitational at the Olympia Fields Country Club in Chicago. This one of the most prestigious tournaments for the 2021 of the fall slate. Indiana had a team score of 856 which was 16 over par. Drew Slayers was the best individual for Indiana with 209 which was 1 under par for the tournament and tied for 5th place.  Number 4 ranked North Carolina won the tournament with 842 which was 2 over par over 3rd ranked Arizona State with 845 for 5 over par. Indiana will head back to the Chicago area September 25th-28th for the Windom Memorial Classic at Lake Shore Country Club in Glencoe Illinois  

Indiana Women’s Golf 10th at Badger Invitational

The Indiana Women’s Golf Team is in 10th place after the first round of the Badger Invitational in Madison Wisconsin. The Hoosiers scored a 612 which is 36 over par and lead Rutgers by 9 strokes and UC Davis by 11 strokes in the 12-team field. Wisconsin is leading the field with a score of 579 which is a 3 over par followed by Old Dominion, Washington State, Norte Dame and SMU in the top five. Three players from Old Dominon and one from Wisconsin are tied for the lead with a score of 141. Aine Donegan of Indiana is tied for 27th with score 150 which is 6 over par. The Final Round of Play will start this morning.    

Indiana Men’s Soccer Travels to Northwestern

Indiana Men’s Soccer will be at Northwestern this evening 8 pm on the Big Ten Network. The Hoosiers are 3-2-1 and ranked 11th after a 2-1 home loss to Rutgers Friday Night. Northwestern comes in 2-3-2 under first year coach Russell Payne who comes to Evanston after an 11-year stint as the head coach at Army. The Hoosiers in the Wildcats meet three times in the 2020 season with Northwestern winning the first contest and The Hoosiers taking the final two. Indiana is 33-3-7 all-time against Northwestern including a 14-2-3 mark in Evanston. Indiana has won 782 games since its first season of varsity soccer in 1973 and they are one of only 7 teams to win at least 780 games but the only program to do it in less than 50 varsity seasons.  

Indiana Fever Close WNBA Season with loss at Chicago

The 2021 Indiana Fever season has come to close after falling to the Chicago Sky 98-87 in Chicago Sunday evening. The Fever end the year at 6-26 and were tied with the Sky 46-46 going into the locker room. Kelsey Mitchell led the way with 32 points, Teria McCowan scored 13 points and added 9 rebounds. Emma Cannon who played for Las Vegas and Connecticut before joining the Fever after the Olympic Break scored a career best 19 points and had a season high 8 rebounds. Chicago was led by Diamond Deshields who became the first WNBA Player to at least 30 points, five rebounds and five assists off the bench.
