State Representative Steve Davidson dies at age 63
Indiana State Representative Steve Davisson, of Salem, has lost his battle with cancer. A Purdue graduate, 63 year-old Davidson served District 73 since 2010, which includes all of Washington County along with parts of Clark, Harrison, Jackson, Lawrence, and Orange Counties. Earlier this year, Representative Davidson was honored by Governor Eric Holcomb, being awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash Award, for his outstanding service to Indiana. Davidson is survived by his wife Michelle, their 5 children, and several grandchildren.

Dominos breaks ground on new Indiana production facility
Dominos broke ground late last week on a $50 million, 112,000 square foot facility in Merryville, Indiana. The supply chain center will be used to supply pizza ingredients to the surrounding states. The latest addition to the AmeriPlex Crossroads business park will add 144 construction jobs over the next 15 months, representing nearly $8 Million in payroll to the region. AmeriPlex first opened 20 years ago as a research campus, but has evolved into is business park housing Ivy Tech Community College, Pinnacle Healthcare, Amazon Delivery, Dawn Food Products, Pro-Fab Sheet Metal, Midwest Tire, and Horizon Financial Management,

Local redistricting committee members sought
Monroe County and the City of Bloomington are accepting applications for committees to help advise on redistricting matters happening over the coming months. Once the State of Indiana completes drawing updated state-level district maps, local municipalities will move forward with their new boundaries. Monroe County will be redrawing boundaries for precincts, County Commissioners, and County Council Members. The City of Bloomington will be re-drawing Councilmanic Districts.

IU Student accused of sexually assaulting 2 women
The Indiana University Police Department is investigating accusations of a man sexually assaulting two different women. One of the accusers alleged to have been assaulted2 weeks ago during a fraternity party on North Jordan Avenue. The second woman claims to have witnessed the incident, and reported that she herself was a victim of an assault by the same man back in September of 2020.
