Indiana University Women’s Basketball Junior Lilly Meister Enters the Transfer Portal Per reports, forward Lilly Meister has joined the group of IU women’s basketball players entering the transfer portal on Tuesday. The junior started for Indiana inside for just over half of this past season, putting her in the difficult position of taking over for Mackenzie Holmes. Meister showed potential in spurts but had several performances head coach Teri Moren felt weren’t good enough, and she ultimately lost her spot in the lineup to Karoline Striplin. The Rochester, Minn. native struggled immensely after that change and saw her playing time off the bench decrease. Meister eventually bounced back and gave the Hoosiers some important efforts in the Big Ten Tournament and the NCAA Tournament. But given the way her season went; it seemed very plausible that Moren could look for a forward in the transfer portal to start over Meister. Meister averaged 6.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game as a junior. Indiana now has 10 players on scholarship for 2025-26. Meister followed sophomore Jules LaMendola and junior Lexus Bargesser in entering the portal on Tuesday. IU already had plenty of holes to address this offseason, and these moves only further clarify the program’s roster situation going forward.

Indiana University Women’s Basketball Junior Lexus Bargesser Enters the Transfer Portal Junior guard Lexus Bargesser is in the transfer portal, according to a report by On3. Bargesser played in 29 games and averaged 3.4 points per game in 17.4 minutes for Indiana this season. Over three years at IU, she scored 294 points, pulled down 178 rebounds, and dished out 169 assists for the Hoosiers.  She played in 90 games and shot 35.9% from the field overall, including 31.6% from three. The 5-foot-9 Grass Lake, Mich. product has one year of eligibility remaining. Earlier in the day, sophomore wing Jules LaMendola entered the portal. IU will also lose seniors Chloe Moore-McNeil, Karoline Striplin and Sydney Parrish to eligibility.

Indiana University Baseball shuts out Bellarmine at Bart Kaufman Field Everything clicked for the Indiana Baseball team (14-11, 5-4 B1G) on Tuesday evening at Bart Kaufman Field. The offense put up 13 runs on 15 hits while its pitching staff tossed seven scoreless frames in a 13-0, run-rule shutout victory over Bellarmine. The Hoosiers put up crooked numbers in the first, second and fourth innings enroute to the commanding victory in Bloomington. IU hit four home runs – capped off by a grand slam from freshman third baseman Cooper Malamazian. He had six RBIs on the night, making him the fifth freshman in the Jeff Mercer era (since 2019) with at least six RBIs in a single ballgame.

Graduate student right-handed pitcher Cole Gilley (W, 4-1) was the first of seven pitchers to throw for the Hoosiers on Tuesday night. As a scheduled bullpen day – and with a commanding lead in hand – Gilley picked up his fourth win of the season. IU’s pitching staff tossed the first shutout since May of 2023 (4-0 vs. Northwestern). Bellarmine never got a runner to third base in the whole game. Any threat to score was wiped out in the fifth inning on a double play by freshman third baseman Will Moore. Senior southpaw Ryan Kraft made his 70th career appearance for the Hoosiers on the mound and worked a scoreless frame of his own.

Redshirt sophomore outfielder Korbyn Dickerson recorded three hits and two RBIs, becoming the first Big Ten player to notch 40 RBIs and 40 base hits on the season. He is also the Big Ten co-leader in home runs with 11 long balls. Junior outfielder Devin Taylor hit his 45th career home run with a solo shot in the second inning. Beginning with a weekend set against conference newcomers USC, the Hoosiers will continue the homestand for eight-straight games. The series against the Trojans will be the first time any of the new west coast programs visits Bloomington for a baseball weekend. First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Meanwhile, the ‘Dons were just 2-for-7 from the 3-point line, their best offensive strategy. After the break, it was all Mastodons. The ‘Dons out-scored ODU 24-7 in the third quarter and 29-20 in the fourth. The Mastodons rattled off a 14-0 run that started and ended with 3-pointers from Ross. Emmerson hit triples on back-to-back possessions as well, and Linbo added a deep jumper. In the fourth quarter, the ‘Dons put together another 13-0 run that slammed the door on any potential comeback from the Monarchs. Indiana Wesleyan University Women’s Basketball falls in the NAIA Championship Game Indiana Wesleyan women’s basketball’s hopes of raising a Red Banner in Luckey Arena in Sioux City, Iowa fell just short on Tuesday night, falling 82-71. The Wildcats mounted a furious fourth quarter comeback attempt that saw them trim a 22-point lead to 9 in just 3 minutes. IWU would get the lead down to as little as 5, but the red and gray would run out of time. Maddie Lawrence, Lilli Frasure, Izzy Reed, Jade Nutley, and Taylor Folkema finished their Wildcat careers with an NAIA Runner-Up finish. The title game started with an evenly matched first quarter where IWU found themselves trailing by just 3 at the end of the frame.

Momentum quickly shifted in the Defenders’ favor in the second quarter. Dordt used a 12-0 run to open the quarter. IWU would score just 8 points in the frame and trailed by 14 at half. The squads again played an even quarter in the third, but a 7-1 run to end the frame by Dordt saw them extend their lead to 20 heading into the final quarter. The Defender’s scored on a layup to open the final frame before a quick 13-0 run from the Wildcats, fueled by a pair of Emily Mattingly threes and 5 points from Maddie Lawrence cut the lead to 9 with 7 minutes left. Lawrence again stepped up with 55 seconds left, nailing another long range shot to cut the lead to 5, but a Wildcat foul and a Dordt offensive rebound sealed the win for DU.  Maddie Lawrence wraps up her five-year Wildcat career having played a program record 159 games. The 34 wins this season are the program’s top mark since 2012-13.  IWU trimmed a 22-point 4th quarter deficit to just 5 points with 55 seconds left before running out of time.
