Indiana University Football’s Home-and-Home with Notre Dame Beginning in 2030 has been Cancelled IU football fans looking forward to a home-and-home series with Notre Dame were dealt disappointing news on Monday afternoon. According to multiple reports, the games originally set for 2030 and 2031 in Notre Dame and Bloomington, respectively, have been cancelled. National reports indicate Indiana decided to cancel, but it’s worth noting Notre Dame has already replaced the 2030 meeting date with a game against USC. The Trojans insisted on early season weekends in order to renew their rivalry series with the Irish. The games were originally contracted in 2021, when Tom Allen led IU and Brian Kelly led Notre Dame. Since IU hired Curt Cignetti, the program has also canceled previously scheduled nonconference games against Louisville and Virginia. Cignetti’s philosophy has been to not needlessly make the schedule more challenging ahead of the nine-game Big Ten gauntlet. He did acknowledge last week he anticipates a mandated scheduling approach now that all of the other major conferences have gone to 10 Power Four games.
Although they’re both based in Indiana, the programs rarely meet on the gridiron. Indiana and Notre Dame played in South Bend in Dec. 2024 as part of the College Football Playoff. The Irish won that game 27-17. But the teams last met in the regular season at Notre Dame on Sept. 7, 1991, a 49-27 ND victory. That 1991 meeting was also the end of a long drought of games between the two teams. The previous meeting came in 1958. Indiana has a 5-24-1 all-time record against Notre Dame and has lost seven straight in the series. The last Indiana win came on Oct. 21, 1950. With this development, Indiana currently has no Power Four opponents on its future schedules.

Indiana University Women’s Soccer Players Piper Coffield, Emily Graham and Aleyna Quinn Named B1G Preseason Players to Watch Three Indiana University Women’s Soccer Players were named to the Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch List. The Hoosiers are picked to finish 16th out of 18 teams in the Big Ten Preseason Poll. Indiana will play at Louisville this afternoon at 1 PM in an exhibition match and will be home on Saturday Afternoon against Dayton at 1 pm in the second and final exhibition match. The Hoosiers open the Regular Season with Hampton University on Wednesday, August 12th at 8 PM.
Piper Coffield, Defender-Coffield earns her spot on the Players to Watch list as she looks to make a return to the pitch for the Hoosiers. A major contributor to the backline, Piper brings another scoring threat to the offense, scoring five goals through her first two seasons in Bloomington. She also brings plenty of starting experience, starting in 35 of 36 career appearances.
Emily Graham, Forward-Emily Arrives in Bloomington looking to make an immediate impact, being named to the Preseason Player to Watch List. Graham brings in Big Ten experience transferring in from Michigan State. She made eight appearances for the Spartans a year ago, scoring her first career goal in a win against Milwaukee.

Indiana University Women’s Volleyball to be on National Television 10 Times During the 2026 Season For the first time in program history, the Indiana volleyball team will have double-digit matches broadcasted on national television. The Hoosiers will appear 10 times on three different channels (FS1, BTN and ESPN2) following a record-breaking 2025 campaign. A majority of the Big Ten Tournament will appear on BTN before the championship game airs live on FOX (Nov. 25). Head coach Steve Aird will guide his team through a tough slate in 2026. That includes a trio of games against SEC programs that will feature on national television. IU will play Georgia (Sept. 1 – FS1), Texas A&M (Sept. 2 – BTN) and Tennessee (Sept. 6 – ESPN2) in the span of six days during the first week of September. Its matches against Georgia and Texas A&M are a part of the first Big Ten – SEC Challenge Week.
As conference action gets underway, the Hoosiers will play seven of their first 11 Big Ten matches on either BTN or FS1. That includes a run of four-straight matches between October 1st (at Wisconsin) and October 11th (USC). Matches against Nebraska (Oct. 8), USC (Oct. 11) and Penn State (Oct. 25) will put Wilkinson Hall on full display for a national audience. The inaugural Big Ten Tournament will pit the top 15 teams in the league against each other in a single-elimination bracket at the Fishers Event Center. All but five games will be broadcasted on BTN. The championship match will air live on FOX, marking the first time a conference volleyball tournament match has been televised on a broadcast network.
Former Indiana Hoosier Mikail Kamara suffers torn ACL at San Francisco 49ers Camp The news is not good after former IU football star Mikail Kamara was carted off the field at San Francisco 49ers camp this weekend. Kamara was diagnosed with a torn ACL, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. The 49ers waived Kamara with an injury designation on Sunday, and he will revert to the team’s injured reserve list once he clears waivers. After signing as an undrafted free agent, Kamara was competing for a role as a pass rusher and special teams’ contributor for San Francisco. A product of Ashburn, Virginia, Kamara appeared in 52 career games with 51 starts in six seasons at James Madison and Indiana, all for coach Curt Cignetti. In 2025 Kamara led the Big Ten and finished tied for No. 7 in FBS in total pressures (60) per Pro Football Focus. He blocked first career punt in the third quarter of the 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship Game, which was recovered by Isaiah Jones for a touchdown. He was first-team All-Big Ten in 2024 with 10 sacks and 15 tackles for loss. He led the FBS in total pressures (73) per Pro Football Focus. Kamara’s younger brother Amari is a second-year linebacker at IU.
Taylor University Volleyball Recognized by AVCA for Outstanding Academics The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 2026 AVCA Team Academic Awards, with Taylor recognized among 1,432 programs in high school and college volleyball. The Trojans were named a Team Academic Award recipient as well as one of the top 20 percent of institutions in college on the Team Academic Honor Roll. Volleyball teams must maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award. TU was one of 12 NAIA institutions named to the prestigious Team Academic Honor Roll as the team had a collective 3.768 GPA.

Steichen was not at Saturday’s practice due to a personal matter. Monday was also the first day that the Colts wore full pads during training camp. The Colts practice on Tuesday at DROPLIGHT Grand Park from 10-11:30 a.m. before an off day today.
