Olympic Gymnast Aly Raisman to Speak on The IU Campus Tonight
Olympic Gymnast Aly Raisman will be on the Indiana University Campus this evening from 7-8 PM at Wilkinson Hall which is the Home of Indiana Volleyball and Wrestling. Admission and parking are free and a mask is required when inside the building. The Event is being organized by Wilson Delta Gamma Lectureship in Values and Ethics. Rasiman competed in the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Summer Games. She won 2 gold medals in London in the Team and Floor Exercise. In 2016 She won Gold in the team event, Sliver in the All Around and Floor Exercise and Bronze in the Balance Beam. She has made apperances on Dancing with the Stars, A cameo in the 2019 Charlie’s Angels reboot movie along with her 2017 Memoior book Fierce: How Competing for Myself Changed Everything. Last Month the TV Show Aly Raisman Darkness to Light debut on the Lifetime TV Network. The Show advocates for survivors of abuse with she came forward in 2017 as one of many victims sexually abused by the former Olympic team physician Larry Nassar.
Indiana-Michigan State Football Game Set October 16th at Noon Fox Sports 1
The Indiana-Michigan State Football Game is set for Saturday October 16th at Noon on Fox Sports 1. It will be homecoming at Memorial Stadium. The Teams will battle for the Old Brass Spittoon for the 64th time with the first trophy game coming in 1950. This will be 68th meeting between the two teams dating back to 1922. Indiana is 2-3 and 0-2 in the Big Ten and will have the week off. Michigan State is Ranked 11th 5-0 and 2-0 in the Big Ten will travel to Rutgers This Saturday before coming to Bloomington. Indiana beat Michigan State 24-0 in East Lansing last season to take back the Old Brass Spittoon.
Indiana Quarterback Michael Penix Jr Suffers Shoulder Injury Won’t Require Surgery
Indiana Quarterback Michael Penix Jr suffered a shoulder injury last Saturday Night at Penn State. Surgery will won’t be required as he will be week to week as he goes through rehabilitation. Penix has battled through injuries every season he has been at Indiana. He tore is ACL in 2018 and 2020 and had a shoulder injury in 2019. In 2020 Penix is 87-162 passing for 4 touchdowns and 7 interceptions along with 2 rushing touchdowns. In his Career Penix is 342-576 for 4,197 yards with 29 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He has 6 Career rushing touchdowns on 64 carries for 165 yards. Quarterback Jack Tuttle will the starter if Penix is not able to play against Michigan State on October 17th. The Hoosiers will have this week off.
Indiana Running Back Tim Baldwin Jr Enters the Transfer Portal
Indiana Running Back Tim Baldwin Jr has entered the transfer portal. Baldwin Jr is 6-0 211 pounds had 28 rushes for 103 yards through 5 games through the 2021 season. In 2020 Baldwin’s freshman year he had 22 carries for 141 yards over 4 games. Baldwin is from Nokesville, Virginia originally committed to Michigan November 4, 2018 and reopened his recruitment later that month. Baldwin committed to Indiana December 8, 2019 and enrolled in January 2020.
