ESPN College GameDay is coming to Bloomington for Indiana University Football vs. Minnesota ESPN’s iconic College Football GameDay pregame show is returning to Bloomington this weekend when IU football hosts Minnesota. The network announced the news on its social media channels Sunday morning. The game will mark the second time the ESPN crew descended on Bloomington for a full edition of the GameDay program.  They were also at IU in 2024 when the Hoosiers defeated Washington.  ESPN also aired an abbreviated Thursday edition of GameDay from IU in 2017 when the Hoosiers hosted Ohio State to open the season. It will be the fourth straight week IU is featured on a national pregame show.  The FOX Big Noon Kickoff crew was on site for each of Indiana’s last three games.

IU has been a regular part of GameDay over the last three years. In addition to the 2024 Washington game, the show was on location for their 2024 games at Ohio State and Notre Dame, their 2025 game at Oregon, and their 2025 College Football Playoff games against Alabama, Oregon and Miami. Rece Davis returns as host of College GameDay and is joined at the desk by analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban. College football insider Pete Thamel, college football analyst “Stanford Steve” Coughlin and reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims round out the College GameDay cast for the 2026 college football season. College GameDay airs at 9 AM ET – Noon ET on ESPN and ESPNU.  The show is likely to be set up outside IU’s South End Zone. We’ll have more details on the show later in the week. Indiana and Minnesota kick at 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS).

Indiana Hoosiers Women’s Volleyball Drop Ranked Matchup to Penn State at Wilkinson Hall The Indiana volleyball team (12-7, 5-5 B1G) couldn’t overcome a physical Penn State attack, falling in four sets (16-25, 25-22, 16-25, 21-25) on Sunday afternoon at Wilkinson Hall. Six of IU’s seven losses have come to ranked opposition this year, five of those against teams in the top 20. Penn State’s All-American opposite Kennedy Martin carried a potent offense from the visitors. She led the way with 21 kills (.514 hitting percentage) while the team hit .376 behind 45 assists from setter Alexis Stuckey. Outside hitter Whitney Launstein added 14 kills for the Nittany Lions. IU managed seven blocks with four each from second-year middle blocker Victoria Gray and fifth-year opposite hitter Avry Tatum.

Tatum answered the bell offensively on a night where IU never got into rhythm. She had 17 kills on 37 swings, her most kills in a Big Ten match since putting up 17 in last year’s win over UCLA (Oct. 4, 2025). Second-year outside hitter Jaidyn Jager joined her with 11 kills of her own. Gray continued her great run of form offensively with six kills on a .417 hitting percentage. In the end, IU couldn’t keep up with Penn State’s ability to side out. The Nittany Lions led in kills (59-47) and handled things at a high level in the serve receive battle. IU was aced a season high 10 times and produced just three aces of its own from the end line. IU’s four service errors were the fewest on the entire season.

The Hoosiers will finally wrap up a brutal month of October travel this weekend with a two-game swing through Michigan. Seven of IU’s 10 games in the month were on the road, including games at Oregon, Rutgers and Washington. First serve at Michigan State is set for 6 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 30, BTN). Against Michigan, IU will get underway at 7 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 31) evening.

Penn State won the service battle and controlled most of the match on its own terms. IU was aced 10 times for the first time since a similar four-set loss to Minnesota last season. The Hoosiers managed three aces but allowed Penn State to be in system most of the night. • IU finished with 47 kills in the contest, 17 of those from fifth-year opposite hitter Avry Tatum. However, IU committed 14 attacking errors and was blocked nine times. An early change in the middle opened up the floor but the Hoosiers never got fully into the match offensively.

Over 2,500 people packed into Wilkinson Hall on Sunday afternoon. It was IU’s second-biggest crowd of the year (2,705 vs. Nebraska – Oct. 8, 2026) and the seventh time that the building has seen a crowd of over 2,500 fans. The Hoosiers are now 4-3 in home contests this year. Fifth-year opposite hitter Avry Tatum had her best game of the season against Penn State. She produced 17 kills and tallied four blocks in her time on the right side. It was the most kills she’s had in a single match since also putting up 17 in a ranked win over UCLA (Oct. 4, 2025) last season.

Second-year outside hitter Jaidyn Jager put up 11 kills as she stretched her run of matches with double-digit kills to five-straight efforts. In her career, she’s had 10-or-more kills in 22 of 30 all-time Big Ten matches. Jager has had double-digit points (12.0) in every game since this year’s season opener. Second-year middle blocker Victoria Gray has now made eight-straight appearances while committing fewer than two attacking errors. She’s averaging 1.74 kills per set in conference play and had 15 total kills in a pair of matches over the weekend. Gray is hitting at a .474 clip during Big Ten action this year.

Indiana University Field Hockey Topped by No. 1 Maryland, 1-0 No. 13 Indiana Field Hockey was defeated by No. 1 Maryland by a lone Terrapin goal in its last home match of the regular season on Sunday afternoon at Deborah Tobias Field in Bloomington, Ind.  It now sits at 9-6 on the season and 4-3 in Big Ten Play. It was all about the defense on both sides of the field as play opened up in the first quarter. Indiana was awarded a penalty corner in the 12th minute of play, leading to a blocked shot from second-year forward Celia Arroyo-Cabezudo.  Indiana’s offense got hot in the second frame, totaling three penalty corners all taken by fourth-year forward Theresa Ricci. Despite IU being unable to profit off of the extra opportunities and recording six shots in the second, the match was scoreless as it went into the break.  Maryland came out strong in the second half of the contest, with its Babs Van Hest notching the solo goal to go up 1-0. IU was unable to find opportunities in the circle to record a shot in the third frame. While Indiana’s defense held strong in the fourth, the offense was unable to push past the Terrapins press, falling 1-0 as play concluded.

The back-to-back losses against Penn State and Maryland have been the only games through the 2026 campaign where Indiana was shutout by its opponent.  Indiana finished the home season 4-3, winning four straight before recording the three losses (Northwestern, Penn State, Maryland)
• Indiana and Maryland both recorded nine shots through the match, with the home team having the slight edge with four shots on goal to Maryland’s three.  IU is the second team to hold Maryland to one goal during the 2026 season. The first was Wake Forest on Sep. 20.  IU will finish out the regular season in Piscataway, N.J. on Friday, Oct. 30 at Noon against Rutgers.

Tyrese Haliburton has 24 points and 10 assists to help the Indiana Pacers beat the winless Brooklyn Nets 136-109 Tyrese Haliburton had 24 points, 10 assists and an All-Star Game-worthy dunk as the Indiana Pacers hammered the Brooklyn Nets 136-109 on Sunday night. The Pacers shot 58% (49 for 85) from the field, including 49% (21 for 43) from 3-point distance. Haliburton shot 8 for 13 from the field, Pascal Siakam added 21 points and Obi Toppin chipped in 16 off the bench. Reserve guard Nolan Traore had 17 points for Brooklyn, which has lost its first three games of the season. Indiana trailed by two points at the end of the first quarter before outscoring the Nets 41-30 in the second period to take a 65-56 lead at the break. The Pacers shot 58% from the field and 42% beyond the 3-point line in the first half. The Pacers continued their good rhythm in the third quarter by blitzing the Nets 37-24 for a 98-74 advantage heading into the final period.

Haliburton, who missed last season while recovering from a torn right Achilles tendon, provided the highlight of the third quarter. With 7:17 remaining, Julius Randle lost control of the ball at the top of the arc and Aaron Nesmith dove for it before Siakam picked it up and found a wide-open Haliburton, who bounced the ball to himself in front of the free throw line and threw down two-handed dunk that drew the approval of his teammates. Ivica Zubac was removed from the game after he sprained his left ankle with 4:57 left in the first quarter after he stepped on Kelly Oubre’s foot while chasing down a rebound. Daniel Jones throws late pick and Sepncer Shrader misses 2 FGs and the Indianapolis Colts fall to the Minnesota Vikings 16-10 Harrison Smith capped another dominant performance by Minnesota’s defense with the game-sealing interception, and the Vikings overcame another sluggish start to stay unbeaten with a 16-10 victory over the spiraling Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Linebacker Blake Cashman led the onslaught of pressure on Daniel Jones all afternoon with 12 tackles, two sacks, four passes defensed and three quarterback hits for the Vikings (6-0), who won yet again despite minimal production from Kyler Murray and the offense. Smith picked off Jones around midfield with about a minute left to kill the last-ditch drive by the Colts (2-5) before it ever got going, the 40th career interception for the stalwart safety who decided right before the regular season to return for his 15th year.

Jones went 13 for 122 for 108 yards and lost 44 yards on four sacks, with Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores continually sending blitzers into the backfield. Will Reichard made three field goals for the Vikings, including a 52-yarder with 1:39 left after his 59-yard try was blocked by Grover Stewart earlier in the fourth quarter. Jonathan Taylor gave the Colts the lead they kept for more than three quarters of the game with a 38-yard touchdown run on their opening drive, but Spencer Shrader missed two field goals in the second half. The miss from 56 yards that coach Shane Steichen called for on fourth-and-2 set the Vikings up for their only touchdown, when Murray used a 35-yard run to get in range for a short scoring pass to T.J. Hockenson.

Reichard hit from 28 and 47 yards in the second quarter to set the franchise record with 35 consecutive made field goals, which was the longest active streak in the league — until the block. Shrader, who leads the NFL in scoring this season with 70 points, had his streak of 22 straight made field goals end with his wide-left miss that had heavy pressure off the edge by former Colts cornerback Isaiah Rodgers. That also stopped Shrader’s run of seven makes in a row from 50-plus yards. Indianapolis Colts: With standout Sauce Gardner (calf) inactive, the CB depth chart was chewed up in the second half when Justin Walley (knee) and Cam Taylor-Britt (groin) left with injuries. … TE Tyler Warren (groin) missed his second straight game. LB Jaylon Carlies (ribs) returned to the starting lineup after missing two games. Minnesota Vikings Running Back Aaron Jones aggravated a nagging knee injury in the fourth quarter when he took a low hit at the end of a 17-yard run. He didn’t return. … Myles Price, who returned the opening kickoff 46 yards and leads the league in punt return average, was evaluated for a concussion in the first quarter but did not miss any time.
