Big Ten Conference Announces Tip Times and TV Designations for Indiana Men’s Basketball  

The Mike Woodson Era at Indiana University will begin officially at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9 against Eastern Michigan and will air on the Big Ten Network. The Big Ten announced the majority of the TV designations and times for the upcoming season with IU scheduled to make 14 appearances on BTN, six on FS1 and ESPN/ESPN2 or ESPNU, three times on Fox and one appearance on CBS. Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall has had at least one home game shown by one of the four major networks (NBC, ABC, CBS or Fox) every year since 1976.
Start times and television designations for the 2021 Big Ten/ACC Challenge will be announced at a later date and will be carried on the ESPN family of networks.
The Friday, Nov. 12 game against Northern Illinois could air on BTN+ though a decision on programming for BTN that night is pending and the game could be shown on BTN. Three games are still awaiting official start times from BTN including Marshall on Nov. 27, Nebraska on Dec. 4 and UNC Asheville on Dec. 29.
The Gavitt Games home contest against St. John’s on Nov. 17 will be at 9 p.m. on FS1 and the Crossroads Classic matchup against Notre Dame in Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse tips-off at 2:30 p.m. IU will host Purdue Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. on FS1 with the return contest against the Boilermakers in West Lafayette scheduled for March 5 at Noon or 2 p.m. Other home game key matchups include Jan. 23 against Michigan on CBS at either Noon or 3:30 p.m. and Senior Night against Rutgers on March 2 at 7 p.m. on BTN.
Six games, including the Big Ten matchup with Ohio State (7 p.m. on FS1) on January 6, are part of a Mini-Series Ticket package, which is now on sale. The package is available for games in which our student season ticket holders are home for Thanksgiving and Christmas break. Main Level seats are available for $288, while Balcony tickets sell for $180.
The Mini-Series includes all three contests of the Hoosier Challenge with games against Louisiana (Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m. on BTN), Jackson State (Nov. 23, 7 p.m. on BTN), and Marshall (Nov. 27) over Thanksgiving week. Indiana will host a pair of games surrounding the Christmas holiday with matchups against Northern Kentucky (Dec. 22, 7 p.m. on BTN) and UNC Asheville (Dec. 29 on BTN).

Indiana Women’s Basketball to Appear 13 Times on National TV For 2021-22 Season

Indiana Women’s Basketball will play in front of national television audiences 13 times in the upcoming 2021-22 season, announced by the Big Ten on Tuesday.
Potential non-conference Top 25 showdowns against Kentucky (Nov. 14) will air on the ESPN family of networks and NC State in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge (Dec. 2) will air on ESPN2. The Hoosiers will also appear on against Maryland to begin the new year (Jan. 2) and at Michigan (Jan. 31).  Both games will air also on ESPN2.
Indiana will play its first game on FS1 this season when it travels to Rutgers (Dec. 30). Additionally, it will appear on Big Ten Network eight times throughout the conference schedule.
The Hoosiers return all five starters from last season’s NCAA Elite Eight campaign as they finished 21-6 overall and 16-2 in Big Ten play. All-Americans junior forward Mackenzie Holmes and senior guard Grace Berger highlight IU’s veteran group along with seventh-year senior guard Ali Patberg and senior forward Aleksa Gulbe, who all earned All-Big Ten honors a season ago.
Indiana is ranked amongst the top teams in the country, coming in at No. 7 in ESPNW’s Way Too Early Top 25 and No. 8 in the NCAA.com preseason poll. The season will begin on Nov. 10 when IU travels to Butler followed by the home opener against Kentucky on Nov. 14.  
Season tickets for the upcoming campaign are now on sale through the IU Ticket Office by visiting its website, calling 1-866-IUSPORTS or in person at the West lobby ticket office in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Indiana Women’s Golf Wins Courtney Cole Invitational  

For the first time since the 2018-19 season, the Indiana Hoosiers women’s golf team claimed the team title after 36 holes at the Courtney Cole Invitational played at The Pfau Course on Tuesday. The Tournament is named after former Indiana Women’s Basketball Player and Golfer Courtney (Cox) Cole who played two sports for Indiana from 1990-1993, she passed away September 22nd 2019 of cancer at age 48.
The Hoosiers shot an 8-over 296 for the second-straight round to finish at 592 (+16) to finish 36 shots ahead of second-place Cincinnati (626; +52). Indiana earned the team title in the tournament for the first time since the Lady Boilermaker Classic on April 14, 2019. Freshman Áine Donegan earned her third-straight top-15 finish and her first collegiate tournament title after shooting a 144 (71-73; E) over two rounds at The Pfau. She converted birdie opportunities on No. 6, No. 9 and No. 13 in the final round.
The Ennis, County Clare, Ireland, native is the first Hoosier to win an event since Priscilla Schmid (209; -7) took the individual crown at The Landfall Tradition on Oct. 27, 2019.
Junior Valerie Clancy vaulted to runner-up honors after shooting a Hoosier-best 71 (-1) over the final 18 holes. She converted a team-high four birdies, including back-to-back holes on No. 11 and 12. She finished second overall at 146 (75-71; +2), her best career finish and second top-5 of her collegiate career.
Fifth-year senior Mary Parsons finished third overall after shooting a 5-over 77 on the second 18. She carded birdies on No. 14 and No. 16 to finish at 149 (+5) for the tournament.
 Senior Alexis Miestowski tied for sixth place overall with a two-round score of 154 (78-76; +10). Her second round of 76 (+4) consisted of birdies on No. 3 and No. 17.
 Freshman Beatriz Junqueira tied for 24th after shooting a 164 (88-76; +20) in her home debut. Her much-improved second round of 76 (+4) played a pair of birdies on No. 10 and No. 17. The Hoosiers will finish the fall slate of the 2021-22 schedule at the Illini Invitational, a two-day tournament from Oct. 11-12 at the Medinah Country Club Golf Course in Medinah, Ill.

Michigan Native Lexus Bargesser Commits to Indiana University Women’s Basketball for 2022

Indiana University Women’s Basketball received a verbal commitment from Lexus Bargesser from Grass Lake High School in Grass Lake Michigan for 2022. Bargesser is a four-star recruit is rated No. 67 overall in the Class of 2022 according to ESPN and holds more than 50 scholarship offers. Her stock skyrocketed last summer after putting up explosive stats and highlights on the AAU circuit for the Michigan Premier basketball organization. The 5-8 senior guard helped lead Grass Lake to the Division 3 state championship this past winter, as she used her size, speed, length and agility to have an impact on both ends of the floor. Bargesser averaged 24 points, 4.5 assists, 8.3 rebounds and 3.8 steals per game for Grass Lake and shot 55 percent from the field and 41 percent on 3-point attempts. Her season highlights include a 41-point game against Chandler Park (Division 2), 27 points against Detroit Renaissance (Division 1 runner-up), 27 points against Detroit Edison (Division 2), 22 points against Ypsilanti Arbor Prep (Division 3) and capped off her season with 16 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, two assists and one block in the Division 3 state championship game against Kent City. Bargesser was named the MLive Jackson Player of the Year for her efforts on the basketball court and was a first team All-State by the Associated Press. The electrifying athlete continued to push the pace this spring, as she won three individual state championships in track. Bargesser won the 100-meter dash (12.12 seconds), 200 dash (25.30) and set a new Division 3 state finals record with a time of 55.54 seconds in the 400 dash. She also anchored the 1,600-meter relay team that finished runner-up with a time of 4:11.54, which helped clinch a team state title for Grass Lake. Bargesser also won individual state titles as a freshman in 2019, finishing with top times in the 100 dash (12.56) and 200 dash (25.43). She is the second Verbal Commitment for Indiana Women’s Basketball Coach Teri Moren along with 6-2 Lilly Meister from Minnesota and they cannot sign a national letter of intent until next month when the fall signing period starts or in April 2022 for the spring signing period.
