Indiana University Women’s Tennis Announces the 2025 Fall Schedule Indiana women’s tennis has announced its 2025 fall schedule. Action will get underway at the Debbie Southern Furman Classic hosted by Furman on Sept. 12-14 as the ITA Women’s All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. on Sept. 20-28 for the program’s only action in September. They will host the Hoosier Classic on Oct. 3-5 in Bloomington. Playing a compass draw, with each player guaranteed to play three rounds of singles and doubles matches over the three-day tournament. The team will take part in the Michigan State Invite on Oct. 31-Nov. 2. The W15 Lincoln will be held in Lincoln, Neb. On Nov. 3-9 and the fall slate ends with the ITA Sectional Championships on Nov. 6-9 and NCAA Individual Championships on Nov. 16-23, pending qualification. The 2025 spring slate will be announced at a later date.

Indiana University Women’s Soccer’s Sally Rainey Named to the Top Drawers Soccer Preseason National Ranking Indiana women’s soccer goalkeeper Sally Rainey was named to the Top-Drawer Soccer’s Preseason National Ranking list, sitting at 57th.  Rainey comes into the program looking to make an immediate impact in goal for the Hoosiers. After starting all 18 games a season ago for New Hampshire, the three-time America East Conference Player of the Week is more than up to the task of starting goalie. Sally led the America East in shutouts (9) including three games with five or more saves.

Indiana University Men’s Tennis Announces the 2025 Fall Schedule Indiana head coach Jeremy Wurtzman has announced the fall Men’s Tennis schedule for the 2025-26 season. The Hoosiers will play in six different tournaments from September to November. The team will open play in September with the ITA All-American Championships (Sep. 20-28) in Tulsa, Okla. In October, Indiana will play in three different events, including the MTSU Invite (Oct. 3-5), ITA Regionals (Oct. 9-14) at Purdue and then the Big Ten Individual Championships (Oct. 30-Nov. 2) in Madison, Wis. For November, Indiana will wrap up the fall slate with the ITA Sectionals (Nov. 5-8) in Athens, Ga. and the NCAA Individual Championships (Nov. 18-23) in Lake Nona, Fla. The team’s spring schedule will be announced at a later date.

Edgewood Graduate Claire Schapker Promoted to Interim Head Softball Coach at Purdue Northwest Purdue Northwest Athletics has announced the promotion of Edgewood High School Graduate Claire Schapker to Interim Head Coach of the softball program, following the resignation of former head coach Tristan Zink. Schapker, who is entering her third season with the program, has been instrumental in the team’s continued growth and success over the past two seasons. As assistant coach, she helped guide the program to a GLIAC Tournament appearance in 2024 and has played a key role in maintaining the hardworking culture both on and off the field. “Claire Schapker is a rising star in collegiate softball” said Rick Costello, Director of Athletics at Purdue Northwest. “She has a clear vision for building a competitive, student-athlete-focused program, and her recruiting and leadership experience make her the ideal coach to lead Purdue Northwest during this transition. Claire has been an integral part of our softball program’s success and led the program during the Fall 2024 semester.”

During her time as assistant coach, Schapker contributed to record-setting achievements in both batting and pitching categories, while also helping develop multiple All-GLIAC selections and Midwest All-Region honorees. Prior to joining PNW, Schapker served as an assistant coach at Calumet College of St. Joseph, where she focused on pitching and recruiting. Her tenure with the Crimson Wave included two CCAC Conference Tournament appearances during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. She began her coaching career as a recruiting assistant before transitioning into a full-time assistant role in fall 2021.

“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to continue growing the PNW Softball program on and off the field. Thank you to Rick Costello and Tom Albano for the opportunity to continue being a part of Purdue Northwest Athletics,” said Schapker. “Thank you to Tristan Zink for her leadership, mentorship, and friendship to me over the last couple of years and for helping put PNW Softball on the map. I am excited to take this next step with the team and to continue promoting a competitive and positive team culture.”

A former standout pitcher, Schapker was a four-year member of the Calumet College softball team and a three-year starter in the circle. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business management in 2019 and later completed her Master of Public Affairs degree with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from Indiana University, along with a Graduate Certificate in Philanthropic Studies from IUPUI in 2021. In addition to her coaching experience, Schapker previously served as Sports Information Director, Senior Woman Leader, and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor at Calumet College, showcasing her commitment to the overall student-athlete experience. Schapker will begin her interim duties immediately as the program prepares for the upcoming 2026 season.

Taylor University Volleyball Opens the Season with Upset Win over #11 Montana Western A perfect 2-0 start to the season for Taylor volleyball was highlighted by a sweep of No. 11 Montana Western after pulling away in the final set of a five-set thriller with tournament hosts Keiser (0-2) in West Palm Beach, Florida. The win over No. 11 Montana Western is the highest-rated team for TU to defeat since a 2014 victory over No. 3 Wayland Baptist, which went five sets also in the state of Florida.  

The Trojans began the match with a sterling .375 hitting percentage en route to a set win. The Trojans built a sizeable 18-9 lead before the Bulldogs clawed back to within one at 22-23. Two errors from the bulldogs sealed the set for Taylor. The second set saw Taylor grab an early lead before Montana Western knotted it at 10. Back-to-back kills by Daya Vestal gave the Trojans breathing room and they continued to extend their lead before finishing off the set 25-20. A tight final set saw the squads trade points until Taylor went on a 5-0 run for a 16-11 lead. Montana Western made a run before TU secured nine of the final 11 points to close out the match and earn the upset. Ellie Frey led the team with 10 kills, while McKaylah Flagle recorded 17 of the team’s 53 digs. Vestal was efficient up front hitting .500 with six kills in ten attempts.

The Trojans began the day with a hard-fought victory over Keiser (0-2) in a five-set thriller. Frey led the squad with 23 kills and recorded 21 digs for an impressive 20-20 double-double. Lindsay Springer carded 24 assists and eight digs. The first set was tight with neither squad leading by more than a pair. The Trojans took an call an early timeout after three straight points from Keiser gave them a 10-8 lead. Taylor kept it close and even grabbed the lead at 19-17 and led 22-21 before Keiser scored four of the final five points to take the set. The Seahawks carried their momentum into the second set, taking early leads of 5-1 and 12-7, before three attacking errors cut the lead to a pair and forced a timeout from the home team. The Seahawks stayed in control until Taylor rattled off five straight points to take an 18-17 lead. Taylor took its largest lead of the set at 24-21 after a block from Frey and Alexa Mader, who racked up six blocks in the victory. Two points from the Seahawks only delayed the win for the Trojans after a timeout.

The Trojans controlled the third set, taking an early lead and keeping it large until a 5-1 run from the Seahawks cut the advantage to 19-17. Taylor responded with four consecutive points to get a comfortable 25-19 victory.  The fourth set followed a similar script to the second set as Keiser took a commanding lead at 12-7 before Taylor knotted it at 13 with a kill by Frey. A 6-1 by each squad late set up TU’s first match point, which was denied, followed by four more until Keiser scored the final three points for a 31-29 win in a marathon set.  Taylor left no doubt to begin the deciding set, going ahead 5-1 and slowly building the lead in a dominant showing. The Trojans hit .300 and collected three blocks, with Reagan Salzbrenner slamming down a kill for the final point. The Trojans continue play at the Palm Beach Juniors Classic today with a pair of games. Taylor begins the day with a matchup against Florida National (0-2) at 8:00 am before playing Florida College (0-1) at 10:00 am.  

Indiana Pacers Announce the 2025-26 Regular Season Schedule The Indiana Pacers will tip-off the 2025-26 regular season on Thursday, October 23 with a re-match of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder at 7:30pm ET, which will be televised nationally on ESPN and the ESPN App. A limited number of select single-game tickets are on sale now for every Pacers home game! EMIRATES NBA CUP: As previously announced, the Pacers’ four Emirates NBA Cup games will take place on Friday, October 31 vs. the Atlanta Hawks (7:00pm ET), Friday, November 21 at Cleveland (7:00pm ET on Amazon Prime), Wednesday, November 26 at Toronto (7:30pm ET), and Friday, November 28 vs. Washington (7:30pm ET). Teams that advance through the group stage will play Knockout Round games on December 9 and December 10 (the winners will then play Semifinal and Final round games on December 13 and December 16, respectively, in Las Vegas, NV), while teams that do not advance will complete their 82-game regular-season schedule as part of two games that will be announced at a later date. 

GAINBRIDGE FIELDHOUSE HOMESTANDS: The Pacers will have four homestands at Gainbridge Fieldhouse this season that consist of at least four games. The first such homestand tips off on Friday, October 31 vs. Atlanta (7:00pm ET), and continues Saturday, November 1 vs. Golden State (7:00pm ET), Monday, November 3 vs. Milwaukee (7:00pm ET), and Wednesday, November 5 vs. Brooklyn.

NATIONALLY TELEVISED GAMES: The Pacers are currently scheduled to appear in nine nationally televised games this season, which includes one game on ESPN/ESPN App, four games on Amazon Prime, one game on NBC/Peacock, and three games on Peacock. Games not exclusively on a national platform will be televised and streamed on FanDuel Sports Network, which is widely available throughout the Pacers’ local TV territory. The local broadcast schedule on FanDuel Sports Network will be announced at a later date.

ADDITIONAL GAINBRIDGE FIELDHOUSE HIGHLIGHTS: The Pacers will host the New York Knicks on Thursday, December 18 (7:00pm ET) and Friday, March 13 (7:30pm ET). The Milwaukee Bucks visit Indiana on Monday, November 3 (7:00pm ET) and Tuesday, December 23 (7:30pm ET). Western Conference opponents visiting Gainbridge Fieldhouse include the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, January 2 (7:00pm ET), the Houston Rockets on Monday, February 2 (7:00pm ET), the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, February 22 (5:00pm ET), and the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, March 25.

PRESEASON SCHEDULE: The Pacers also confirmed their 2025 preseason schedule, which starts on Tuesday, October 7 at Minnesota (8:00pm ET), continues Saturday, October 11 vs. Oklahoma City (7:00pm ET) and Monday, October 13 vs. San Antonio (7:00pm ET), before concluding on Friday, October 17 at San Antonio (8:00pm ET).
