Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Basketball Media Start Today in Indianapolis

The 2021 Big Ten Media Men’s and Women’s Basketball begin today and will continue through tomorrow at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Home of the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever has undergone and name change as Gainbridge takes over the naming rights to the fieldhouse from Bankers Life. Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren will hold a 30-minute press conference from 8-8:30 AM and then The Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coaches from Michigan, Ohio State, Rutgers, Maryland, Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska will have 10 minutes each at the podium which will start at 8:30 AM and will go till 10:50 AM. Then From 11:30 AM-2:00 PM the coaches and their student athletes will have 30 minutes to conduct one on one interviews.  On Friday Michigan State, Purdue, Penn State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Indiana and Wisconsin will all get their chance to speak to media. Indiana Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Woodson will speak from 10:20-10:30 AM and Women’s Basketball Coach Teri Moren will speak from 10:10-10:20 AM. Woodson along with Trayce Jackson Davis, Rob Phinisee and Race Thompson will be available for one-on-one interviews from 11:30-12:00 PM. Coach Teri Moren along with Grace Berger and Ali Patberg will be available for one-on-one interviews from 12:00-12:30 PM.  

Former Indiana Hoosier Kyle Schwarber Helps Boston Red Sox Win Wild Card

Former Indiana University Baseball Player Kyle Schwarber hit a solo home run in the bottom of third inning as the Boston Red Sox beat the New York Yankees 6-2 in the AL Wild Card game Tuesday Night at Fenway Park in Boston Tuesday Night. The Red Sox Advance to the American League Division Series against the Tampa Bay Rays with game 1 in Tampa scheduled for 8:07 PM tonight on Fox Sports 1. Schwarber was traded in July to Red Sox from the Washington Nationals. With Boston he has played 41 games with 139 at Bats, 34 Runs, 39 Hits, 10 Doubles, 7 Home Runs, 18 Runs Batted In and been walked 33 times. With Washington he played in 72 games with 265 At Bats, 42 Runs, 67 Hits 9 Doubles, 25 Home Runs, 53 Runs Batted In and walked 31 times. Schwarber was named to the All-Star team this year for the first time in his career but was unable to play due to Injury.   

Indiana Men’s Swimming Beats Kentucky in Season Opener

The Indiana Men’s Swimming and Diving Team kicked off the regular season with a 171-115 win over Kentucky at the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatic Center Wednesday Afternoon. The Hoosiers are coming a 6th place finish at last year’s NCAA Championships and a 2nd place finish at the Big Ten Championships.  The Hoosiers will be back in action this Saturday when they travel to Northwestern at 11 am  

Indiana Women’s Swimming Beats Kentucky and Indiana State in Season Opener

Indiana Women’s Swimming and Diving beat Kentucky 162-138 and Indiana State 253-47 in the regular season opener at the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatic Center Wednesday Afternoon. The Hoosiers are coming off a 3rd place finish at the Big Ten Championships and 15th place finish at the NCAA Championships a season ago. The Hoosiers will travel to Northwestern this Saturday at 11 am.
