Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Basketball Media Days Continue Today in Indianapolis

The 2021 Big Ten Media Men’s and Women’s Basketball days continue this morning at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Home of the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever has undergone and name change as Gainbridge takes over the naming rights to the fieldhouse from Bankers Life Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coaches from Michigan State, Purdue, Penn State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Indiana and Wisconsin. will have 10 minutes each at the podium which will start at 8:30 AM and will go till 10:50 AM. Then From 11:30 AM-2:00 PM the coaches and their student athletes will have 30 minutes to conduct one on one interviews. Indiana Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Woodson will speak from 10:20-10:30 AM and Women’s Basketball Coach Teri Moren will speak from 10:10-10:20 AM. Woodson along with Trayce Jackson Davis, Rob Phinisee and Race Thompson will be available for one-on-one interviews from 11:30-12:00 PM. Coach Teri Moren along with Grace Berger and Ali Patberg will be available for one-on-one interviews from 12:00-12:30 PM. 

Bloomington North and Edgewood in Action Bloomington South Gets Unexpected Bye

Week 8 of the High School Football Season sees Columbus North at Bloomington North and Edgewood at Northview. Bloomington South was to host Hammond Morton Saturday evening but that game has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns within the Hammond Morton Program and Bloomington South could not find a replacement opponent so the 6-1 Panthers have the week off. Bloomington North 5-2 takes on 4-3 Columbus North in a battle of coaching Brothers, Scott Bless coaches Bloomington North and His Brother Tim is the coach at Columbus North. Columbus North is undefeated in Conference Indiana and a win tonight would give the Bulldogs a share of title with one more game to go at home against Terre Haute South. If Bloomington North Wins there would be a three-way split for the title depending on next weeks results. Edgewood is 1-5 and travels to 5-1 Northview. Edgewood has not beaten Northview since August 29th, 2008 when the Mustangs beat the Knights at Home 35-14.

Indiana and Ball State Football to Meet in 2026

Indiana University and Ball State University announced they will meet September 12th, 2026 at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington for Football. The Hoosiers have filled their non-conference schedule for 2026. They Host Colorado State September 5th and travel to Connecticut September 26th. Indiana leads the All -Time Series 10-3. Ball State has beaten Indiana twice in Bloomington. September 20th, 2008 42-20 and then September 15th, 2012 41-39.  

Bedford North Lawrence Grad Sarah Stone Joins Indiana Softball

Sarah Stone has transferred to Indiana from the University of Kentucky and will be eligible to compete in the spring. Stone is first base/utility player from Bedford.  Stone, an NFCA high school 1st Team All-American was ranked the No. 17 overall player in the 2021 class was also ranked as the No. 9 catcher in the country winning the Johnny Bench Award honoring the top high school catchers from the region. Stone played high school softball at Bedford North Lawrence. She racked up the awards as a 3X All-State Selection, All Hoosiers Hills Conference honoree, All-Region Performer and Indiana All-Star. In addition to her success at BNL, Sarah excelled with the Beverly Bandits Demarini Travel Organization and was named a PGF All-American with top rankings by FloSoftball and Extra Inning Softball. Stone registered 131 career home runs between high school and travel ball.  She set Bedford North Lawrence records for highest career batting average (.540), single season batting average (.603), most career RBIs (125) and most home runs in a single season (17).   She had 10 doubles, 17 triples, 49 RBI and 47 runs scored. She slugged 1.264, drew 33 walks and reached base at a .633 clip. Stone posted a .992 fielding percentage in 263 chances.
