Indianapolis Colts Beat San Francisco 49ers 30-18 On Sunday Night Football

The Indianapolis Colts beat the San Francisco 49ers 30-18 on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.  Carson Wentz was 17-26 passing for 150 yards and 2 touchdown passes to Michael Pittman Jr and Mo Allie-Cox. Pittman Jr who played at USC caught 4 passes for 105 yards. Jonathan Taylor rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.  Wentz ran for a touchdown himself as the Colts pick up their 2nd road win of the season and improve to 3-4 overall. San Francisco who fell to 2-4 and 0-3 at home was led by Jimmy Garoppolo who was 16-27 passing for 181 yards 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Deebo Samuel caught 7 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown while Elijah Mitchell ran for 107 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. The Colts led 13-12 at half and outscored the 49ers 17-6 in the 2nd half. The weather was a factor with heavy rain all game long 49ers kicker Joey Slye missed an extra point on after the Niners first touchdown. The Kickers were 3-3 on field goals and 3-4 on extra points combined. The Colts will host the Tennessee Titans at Lucas Oil Stadium this Sunday at 1 PM and the game can be seen on CBS. 

Indiana Men’s Soccer Beats Wisconsin 1-0 in Two Overtimes

The Indiana Hoosiers Men’s Soccer team beat Wisconsin 1-0 in Two Overtime’s Sunday afternoon on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium. The Game was delayed three hours due to weather but it was worth the wait for Indiana who scored in the 106th minute on a Tommy Mihalic golden goal to give the Hoosiers a big three points going into the final week of the Big Ten Regular Season. Indiana is 11-3-1 and 5-2 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers sit in first place in the Big Ten Conference with 15 points and Victory at Maryland Sunday ensures the Hoosiers clinch a share of the conference regular season title. Wisconsin falls to 7-5-3 and 3-3-1 in the Big Ten. Indiana has a six-match shutout streak outscoring their opponents 14-0 and has not conceded a goal for 585 minutes and have won 8 of their last 9 matches. It’s the longest streak since 2017 when that team had 8 straight shutouts. Indiana has beaten the Badgers 5 straight times and leads the all-time series 41-5-9. Indiana will host Virginia Commonwealth Wednesday at 7 PM in the final regular season home match and honor the Seniors before the game.

Bloomington South Tennis Duo Falls in State Semifinals

Bloomington South Boys Tennis Juniors Chris Lian and Michael Asplund lost in the Individual Doubles State Finals on Saturday at Carmel High School. Lian and Asplund lost to Junior Daniel Skora and Senior Charles Morton of Munster 6-3, 6-4 in the Semifinals. Lian and Asplund beat Seniors Ryan Scott and Ethan Sample of Mississenewa 6-0, 6-4 in the Quarterfinals on Friday which was moved from Carmel HS to indoors the Community Sports and Wellness Center in Pendleton due to weather. The pair finishes the season at 12-1. 

Bloomington South Girls Soccer Falls to Carmel 1-0 In Semi State

Bloomington South Lost to Carmel 1-0 in Two Overtimes in the Class 3A Girls Soccer Semi State Championship Game at Seymour HS Saturday Evening. The Panthers end the season at 22-1-1 while Carmel improves to 18-2-2 and will face Homestead in State Championship Game Saturday at 4 PM at Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis.  Carmel Scored Sophia Shepherd gets the header flick when a 50-50 ball in the box and the Panthers Goalkeeper Arissa North could not bat the ball out of bounds.
