The Number 1 Team in Class 5A remained unbeaten as the Bloomington South Panthers dominated the Greenfield Central Cougars 54-0 in Greenfield Friday Night to improve to 5-0 on the season. Bloomington South has dominated the opposition outscoring their opponents 268-41 and have posted two shutouts on the season. Bloomington South will face Columbus North next Friday Night at Home. Head Coach Gabe Johnson is 56-18 in seven seasons at the school and 70-28 in 9 years overall. Greenfield Central drops to 1-4 on the season and have lost four in a row after a 33-27 win over Alexandria in Week 1. The Cougars will face Hancock County rival New Palestine on the road next week. This was the first meeting between the two teams in the last 40 years which are an hour and half apart.
The Edgewood Mustangs beat the West Vigo Vikings 49-7 on the Red Carpet in Ellettsville as the Mustangs celebrated Homecoming. Edgewood is 3-2 on the season and has won all three games this season at home. The 49 points are the most the Mustangs have scored this season and ties the most points scored in a single game when Edgewood won at South Spencer 49-12 on August 29, 2025. Edgewood has outscored the Opponent 109-27 in their three victories and been outscored 78-6 in their two losses. Edgewood will travel to Vincennes Lincoln next Friday Night. West Vigo falls to 0-5 and been outscored 259-28. West Vigo will host South Putnam next Friday Night. Edgewood leads the Series 14-11 in the last 40 years.
Plainfield beat Bloomington North 35-14 at Dennis O. Martin Memorial Field on the Northside of Bloomington as the Cougars drop to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the Mid-State Conference. The Cougars three game winning streak is snapped, and they have lost both games at home this season. The Cougars have been outscored 157-144 this season. Plainfield is 4-1 and 2-0 in the Mid State Conference as the Quakers have outscored their opponent 168-94. Plainfield will host Decatur Central Next Friday Night. This is the first time these two programs have met in the last 40 years.
