Former Indiana Basketball Player Chris Reynolds Named Athletic Director Of the Year
Bradley Athletic Director and Former Indiana Basketball Player Dr. Chris Reynolds has been named the Athletic Director of the year. Reynolds is one of 28 Athletic Directors of the Athletics Director of the Year Award. Reynolds is one 4 winners of Division 1-AAA comprised of the 98 Division 1 School do not sponsor Football Program. Reynolds is in 6th year at Bradley and has been in the athletic departments at Michigan State, Western Michigan, Northwestern Norte Dame and Indiana. Reynolds a Peoria Illinois Native played at Indiana for Bob Knight form 1989-1993 won two Big Ten Championships in 1991 and 1993 and Helped the Hoosiers make the 1992 Final Four Losing to Duke in National Semifinals.
Wisconsin Fires Women’s Basketball Head Coach
Hours after Wisconsin Loss to Illinois in the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament. Head Women’s Basketball Coach Jonathan Tsipis was fired. Tsipis was 50-99 in five years at Wisconsin and the Badgers no more 4 Big Ten Games in a season. Wisconsin was 5-19 overall and 2-18 in the Conference this season. Wisconsin has not been to the NCAA Tournament since 2010 and has not had winning season since the 2010-11 season. Tsipis was 92-38 in 4 years at George Washington and took them to Back-to-Back NCAA Tournament Appearances in 2015 and 2016.
No Upsets on Day 2 Of Big Ten Women’s Tournament
Day 2 of the Big Ten Women’s Tournament at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis saw 8 Seed Nebraska beat Minnesota 71-62. Nebraska 12-11 and takes on top seed Maryland at 11 AM this Morning Minnesota finishes the season at 8-13. 5 Seed Northwestern handled 12th Seed Illinois 67-42. The Wildcats 14-7 on the season face 4th seed Michigan at 1:30 PM while Illinois ends the Season at 5-18. 7 Seed Michigan State beat 10 Seed Penn State 75-66. The Spartans will Face Indiana tonight at 6:30 pm While Penn State ends the year at 9-15. 6 Seed Iowa beat 11 Seed Purdue 83-72. The Hawkeyes improve to 16-8 and will face 3 seed Rutgers at 9 PM this evening while Purdue ends the year at 7-16.
