The two programs have not played a regular season game since 2011 at Assembly Hall when Christian Watford’s buzzer-beater sank the No. 1 Wildcats. Kentucky leads the all-time series with Indiana 32-25.

After the win over the Wolverines, the Spartans received their first national ranking since 2009 and secured their fifth consecutive conference win. Indiana lost to Rutgers 1-0 Sunday in a nationally televised game on ESPN. After a scoreless first half and pressure from the Indiana defense, both teams were eager to take the lead. Indiana saw their first real dangerous opportunity after junior forward Anna Bennett sent a cross to an open area in the box, but it was hovered on by the goalkeeper before Jen Blitchok could make the contact.
Rutgers jumped ahead in the 61st minute on a penalty kick that was awarded after Indiana committed a foul in the box. Redshirt-freshman midfielder Ava Akeel nearly found the equalizer in the 78th minute of the match on a downward header from sophomore forward Jordyn Levy. She sent it right in the center of the box at the foot of Akeel but couldn’t get it past the diving goalkeeper. Indianapolis Colts Kicker Chase McLaughlin named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week
The Indianapolis Colts couldn’t muster a touchdown against the Denver Broncos last week, but kicker Chase McLaughlin’s four field goals were enough to get the win. The league noticed, naming the Colts kicker AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. It’s the first time in his career he’s earned the honor. McLaughlin connected on all four field goal attempts against Denver, including three from 48 yards or more. He tied the game in regulation with a 31-yarder before nailing the eventual game-winning field goal from 48 yards out in overtime.
He’s the first kicker in team history to make three field goals of 48+ yards in a single game, according to the Colts. He connected on kicks of 52, 51, 31 and 48 yards in the 12-9 win over the Broncos. McLaughlin is the first Colts player to earn AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors since E.J. Speed in Week 10 of last season. The last Indianapolis kicker to earn the distinction was Rodrigo Blankenship–the kicker McLaughlin replaced earlier this year–in Week 11 of the 2020 season. The Colts host the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1pm.
