Mackenzie Holmes Named Associated Press All American Honorable Mention

Indiana Women’s Basketball Sophomore Mackenzie Holmes was named to the Associated Press All Mention team. Holmes becomes the first AP All American Selection in school history.  Holmes led the team with 18.1 points 7.8 rebounds 2.9 blocks and shooting 60.3 percent from floor. The Gorham Maine native 77.4 percent at free throw line and also averages 1.0 points per game. An All time Big Ten honoree Big Ten first team honoree she has scored 20 times in double figures, nine 20 plus point scoring games and has seven doubles-doubles.

Trayce Jackson-Davis Earns Third Team All American Honor

Indiana Men’s Basketball Sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis has been named third team All American by the United States Writers of America. He also earned the same honor from the Sporting News and honorable mention selection by The Associated Press.  He is the only major player to average at least 19 points 9 rebounds this season and one of four overall players to achieve that standard. Jackson-Davis was 4th in the Big Ten In Scoring with 19.1 points and 2nd in rebounding with 9.0 points per game.

Indiana Women’s Swimming Competes in NCAA Championships

Indiana Women’s Swimming is in 11th place with 12 points after night 1 of the NCAA Championships in Greensboro North Carolina. The lone event of the evening saw the 800 Freestyle Relay team of Josie Grote, Noelle Peplowski, Abby Kirkpatrick and Laurel Eiber finish 11th place with a score by 7:02:42 which gave all four swimmers Honorable Mention All-America Status for there efforts. The Action on Day 2 gets underway this morning at 10 am with prelims and the Finals this evening at 6 PM.  

Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall Hosting NCAA First Four Games Tonight

The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament gets underway tonight with the First Four with 2 games at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.  16 Seeds Texas Southern and Mount St Mary’s will play the first game at 5:10 PM on TRU TV with the winner to face top Seed Michigan on Saturday in West Lafayette. The Second Game will also be a battle of 16 seeds as Appalachian State takes on Norfolk State at 8:40 PM on TRU TV with the winner to take on Top Gonzaga Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Capacity is limited to 500 fans and there are no public tickets available.
