Indiana Women’s Basketball Takes Down VCU in NCAA Tournament First Round

4th Seed Indiana Women’s Basketball Took down 13 Seed VCU 63-32 in the First Round of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament in San Antonio Texas. The Hoosiers led 22-17 at half and shut down the Rams with a 41-15 2nd half run. Grace Berger Led the way with 20 Points, Ali Patberg 17, Mackenize Holmes 14, Aleska Gulbe with 7 points and 10 rebounds and Nicole Cardano-Hillary 5 Points.  VCU was led by co leading scorers Chloe Bloom and Sam Robinson with 8 points each. All 95 points were scored by the starters. Both Teams played their entire benches and no body scored off the bench for either team. Indiana is 4-6 all time in the Big Dance and Teri Moren is 3-2 and the Hoosiers are 3-0 all time against VCU. VCU ends the season at 16-11 while Indiana is 19-5 on the season and will play 12 seed Belmont Wednesday with a time and channel to be determined.

9th Ranked Indiana Men’s Soccer to Play Northwestern Tonight

9th Ranked Indiana Men’s Soccer will host Northwestern tonight 7 pm at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium. The Game will be on Big Ten Network Plus. The Hoosiers are 5-1 on the season while Northwestern is 2-4-1. Northwestern won the previous meeting February 27th in Evanston 1-0. The Hoosiers have controlled this series 31-3-7 and 15-1-3 at home. Northwestern last beat the Hoosiers in Bloomington October 17th,2004 1-0 which was the first Northwestern win in the series after 20 straight losses. The Hoosiers are 6-0-3 against the Wildcats at home since that loss.

Indiana Quarterback Dexter Williams Out of Spring Practice with Torn ACL

Indiana Freshman Quarterback Dexter Williams will miss the rest of Spring Football Practice with Torn ACL. Williams is from Macon Georgia and he was getting lots of reps because Michael Penix Jr is still recovering from his torn ACL suffered in the Maryland Game last November and is not available. There are 15 spring practice workouts. Williams and Jack Tuttle are the only two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster. Indiana has not announced if they will have spring game but if they do, they will have Tuttle and three walk on quarterbacks to use. Incoming Freshman Quarterback Donaven McCulley from Lawrence North HS in Indianapolis will be playing for a state basketball championship April 3rd against Carmel.
