Indiana Men’s Basketball Player Jerome Hunter Will Not Return For 2021-22 Season

Indiana Men’s Basketball Announced that Jerome Hunter will not return to the Men’s Basketball team for the 2021-22 season. Hunter missed his freshman season due to a medical condition in his lower legs that cost him the 2018-19 season. In two seasons Hunter averaged 4.9 points 2.9 rebounds and in 16.7 minutes per game. He made 39.7 percent of his attempts from the field including 32.4 percent from beyond the 3-point arc on 136 career attempts. Hunter’s production improved his Sophomore season when he averaged 6.3 points and 3.0 rebounds over 19.5 minutes while shooting 43.4 percent overall including 32.4 percent from long range. The Pickerington Ohio Native was suspended for multiple games last season for undisclosed reasons. Hunter’s Departure means a scholarship is now open for the 2021-22 season.

Indiana Men’s Basketball Conference Opponents Announced For 2021-22 Season   

The Big Ten Announced the 2021-22 Men’s Basketball Conference Schedule that each team will play this season. Dates, Times and TV Designations will be announced at a later date. The League enters its fourth year with a 20-game schedule. The Hoosiers will play home and road games with Purdue, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin, IU will Host Illinois, Michigan and Rutgers. The Hoosiers will travel to Iowa, Michigan State and Northwestern.

Indiana Men’s Soccer Takes on Pittsburgh in College Cup Semifinal

Indiana Men’s Soccer will make its 21st College Cup Appearance when they face Pittsburgh in the 2nd semifinal at 8:30 tonight on ESPNU in Cary North Carolina. Marshall and North Carolina will kick things off at 6 PM on ESPNU. The Hoosiers are 93-34-6 all time in the NCAA Tournament and have won 8 National Championships. The Hoosiers last won it all in 2012 when they beat Georgetown on December 9th, 2012 in Hoover Alabama. IU and Pittsburgh have only met one time and that was a 3-2 IU overtime Victory in the 2019 Adidas IU Credit Union Classic to kick off the 2019 season. IU is 11-1-2 on the season while the Panthers are 16-3-0. The Championship Game is 8 PM on ESPN2 Monday Night.

Keith Smart Named Assistant Coach at Arkansas

Former Indiana University Men’s Basketball Player Keith Smart has been an assistant coach at the University of Arkansas. Smart is famous for hitting the game winner to beat Syracuse 74-73 in the 1987 National Championship Game in New Orleans Louisiana.  Smart will work under head coach Eric Musselman who he played for in the CBA and worked under him as assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors. Smart played pro ball for 9 years and has been a coach for 22 in the NBA and CBS. Smart played at IU from 1986-88 and was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the 2nd round of the 1988 NBA draft and played for the San Antonio Spurs that season.
