House Bill 1396 to allow carry out alcohol sales
Restaurants in Indiana that were temporarily able to sell alcohol for carryout during the pandemic get to do so permanently after June. As house bill 1396 will take effect July 1. Some restaurants were only allowed to sell alcohol if people drank it in the establishment. Gov. Eric Holcomb temporarily eliminated those rules during the pandemic to help businesses survive. Restaurants subject to the new law can sell alcohol for carryout, within certain parameters.

12-15 year-olds now eligible for Covid vaccinations
Indiana is sending doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to counties for 12- to 15-year-olds, as
appointments are now available for that age group following federal approval Wednesday afternoon. Earlier this week, Dr. Lindsay Weaver, Indiana Department of Health chief medical officer, said 30 counties did not yet have a site with Pfizer doses, which is the only vaccine anyone under age 18 can receive. State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box said in addition to protection from the virus, getting your child vaccinated can make life easier, as vaccinated students who may be exposed to COVID-19,  will not need to be quarantined, and will not miss school or athletic events. Box said the state has no plans to mandate the vaccine for anyone, including schoolchildren.

Herff Jones data breach
Herff Jones, the company that rents graduation attire to IU students, has alerted customers following a data breach. Herff Jones is encouraging graduates and parents to monitor their cards and report any suspicious activity., and the company has hired a cybersecurity firm to investigate the hacking incident and has alerted law enforcement.
