Indiana Men’s Golf Finishes 9th at NCAA Regional

Indiana Men’s Golf finished in 9th place Wednesday at the NCAA Regional at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee Florida. The Hoosiers a total score of 869 which was 5 over par. The 9th place finish was the best finish for the Hoosiers when they were 9th in 2012.  Florida State won the Championship with a 34 under par for a total score 830. The Seminoles will advance to the NCAA Finals along with Georgia Georgia Tech, Liberty and TCU as the top 5 teams. Georgia’s Davis Thompson won the individual title with a 202-total score over Jacksonville’s Michael Sakane by one stroke and Sakane earned the Individual spot for the NCAA Finals.  Mitch Davis was the best individual player for Indiana finishing tied for 23rd with a 216 total score which was even for the tournament.

Indiana Pacers Play Washington Wizards Tonight

The Indiana Pacers will travel to Washington DC tonight to Face the Wizards in the 2nd NBA Play in Tournament Game at 8 PM on TNT. The 9th seeded Pacers beat the 10th seeded Charlotte Hornets 144-117 in Bankers Life Fieldhouse Tuesday Night. The 7th seeded Boston Celtics beat 8th seed Washington Wizards 118-100.  Former Indiana Hoosier Romeo Langford scored 3 points in 14 minutes of action for the Celtics.  Another Former Hoosier Thomas Bryant is on the Washington Wizards but is out after torn ACL in his left knee earlier this year.  The Winner will Face the top seed Philadelphia 76ers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday.

Bloomington North Wins Girls Track Sectional

The Bloomington North Girls Track Team on the Girls Track Sectional on their home turf with a score of 142. Crosstown Rival Bloomington South was 2nd with 129.5. Edgewood was 3rd with 92.8333 and Lighthouse Christian Academy finished 10th out of 11 teams with a score of 12 points.  The Monroe County Schools took 14 of the 16 individual sectional titles. Junior Hannah Reuter of Martinsville won the Long Jump and, in the Girls, High Jump Senior Jailyn Lundy of White River Valley won the event. The Regional will be at Bloomington North Tuesday May 25th at 6 PM. Regional teams will feed in from the Jeffersonville, Seymour Terre Haute North and Host Bloomington North Sectionals.

Connecticut Sun beat The Indiana Fever 88-67

The Indiana Fever fell 0-3 on the season after losing to the Connecticut Sun 88-67 in Uncasville Connecticut. The Sun have beaten the Fever 10 out of the last 11 meetings with the Fever winning regular season finale in 2019.  Danielle Robinson scored 12 points and Tiffany Mitchell had 10 points in bench.  Bernadett Hatar a 6-10 center from Hungary scored 6 points and pulled down 5 rebounds in 19 minutes in her Fever debut. The Sun is 3-0 on the year and had four players in double figures.  Indiana is back action on Friday at 7 pm in Bankers Life Fieldhouse against the Atlanta Dream.
