Indiana Cutters Fall to Lake County Warriors 16-12 in Preseason Game

The Indiana Cutters Semi Pro Football Team fell to the Lake County Warriors 16-12 in a preseason game at the Central Green Turf Field in Indianapolis Saturday Afternoon. The Cutters got on the board first with a 1-yard touchdown run by Fullback Lazarus Bolton to put the Cutters up 6-0 after a holding penalty negated the 2-point attempt. The Warriors scored on a safety when a fumbled was recovered in the end zone by the Cutters, the next Play the Warriors took the Kickoff 80 yards to the house to lead 8-6 with 7:03 to go before Halftime.  On the third play of the 2nd half DJ Stephens intercepted the Warriors and Cutters had great field position at the Warriors 10-yard line but was unbale to punch it in.  Tayran Wells had a fumble recovery for the Cutters and they picked up a second fumble recovery in the 4th quarter. The Cutters scored when Sidney Moore found GaJuan King for 75-yard touchdown pass 2:12 to go to put the Cutters up 12-8 with 2.12 to go. The Warriors were able to drive down the field and connect on a 20-yard touchdown pass with 26 seconds to go. The Cutters had one more chance but were stopped near their own end zone. The Cutters finish the preseason 0-2 and will host the Quad City Titans in the Battle Ground Football League Regular season opener.

Scott Dixon wins the Pole for the Indy 500  

Scott Dixon won the pole Sunday Afternoon for Next Sunday’s Indianapolis 500. Dixon beat out Colton Herta and Rinus VeeKay for the Pole. Dixon had a 231.695, Herta 231.655 and VeeKay who won the GMR Grand Prix on the Speedway Road Course earlier in the Month was 231.111. Dixon had won this 4th Indy 500 pole. Dixon won the 2008 Indy 500 on his first time as the pole sitter. He sat on the pole in 2015 and finished 4th. Dixon’s 3rd Indy 500 Pole came in 2017 when he finished 32 when he was in a big accident and suffered a minor ankle injury in early stages of the race.   The rest of the 33-car field for this year will be in Row 2, Ed Carpenter, Tony Kannan and Alex Palou. Row 3, Ryan Hunter Reay, Heilo Castro Neves and Marcus Ericsson.  Row 4, Alexander Rossi, Ed Jones and Pato O’Ward. Row 5 Pietro Fittapaldi, Felix Rosenquist and Takuma Sato. Row 6 James Hinchcliffe, Scott McLaughlin and Graham Rahal. Row 7 Conor Daly, Jack Harvey and Josef Newgarden. Row 8 JR Hildebrand, Santino Ferucci and Juan Pablo Montoya. Row 9 Marco Andretti, Simon Pagenaud and Sebastien Bourdais. Row 10 Stefan Wilson, Max Chilton and Dalton Kellett. The final row was determined Sunday afternoon in last row qualifying Sage Karam, Will Power and Simona De Silvestro were able to get and Charlie Kimball and Rookie RC Enerson could not find enough speed on 2 attempts to bump their way in.

Indiana Fever Get First win of the WNBA Season

The Indiana Fever beat the Washington Mystics 89-77 Sunday afternoon in Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Fever led the entire first half and only trailed for only 53 seconds in the 3rd quarter which was highlited by a 21-5 six-minute run to separate from the Mystics. Kelsey Mitchell led 5 Fever Players in Double Figures with 18 points. Jessica Breland had her 24th career double-double with 17points and 10 rebounds. Tearia McCowan her 18th career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Lauren Cox saw her first action of the season after missing the first 4 games of the season with a knee injury.  The Fever had 26 assists which tie the second most in the Coach Marianne Stanley era. Danielle Robinson became the 77th player in WNBA History with 1,000 Career field goals made. Indiana is 1-4 and Washington is 1-3 and the same two teams will play Tuesday Night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse at 7 PM.
