Police searching for 27 year-old woman accused of shooting Bloomington man.
Friday morning. Bloomington Police officers responded to the 600 block of West 12th Street after a a 911 call about a woman with a gun. As officers arrived, a 35 year-old unidentified male had been shot in both his hand and his side, while reportedly walking through his neighborhood. 27 year-old Samantha Glenn is accused of shooting the man as he attempted to run away from her, past the intersection of Fairview and 12th Streets. Glenn has been an acquaintance of both the victim and his wife for several years. Glenn is still at large after fleeing in a black, 2013 Dodge Caravan with Indiana plate 610RAL. She is considered armed and dangerous. Please contact police if you have any information on her whereabouts.

Indiana University to require Covid Vaccination
Indiana University students, faculty and staff will be required to be vaccinated against Covid-19 by the start of the fall 2021. Subsequently, most restrictions on masking and physical distancing will be lifted. The requirement stipulates that to be fully vaccinated, one must have had both doses of the vaccination and have completed the 2-week period after the final dosage. Compliance with the COVID-19 vaccine requirement is in place for any interaction with the IU community in any way. This includes being on campus, taking or teaching courses, being employed and/or participating in activities. Exemption requests can be made before June 15th based on medical or religious reasons.

Ivy Tech offering free STEM classes for girls in grades 6-8
Ivy Tech Bloomington’s Center for Lifelong Learning is partnering with Verizon and the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) to offer a free project-based STEM learning program, Rural Young Women, for students in grades 6-8 that starts July 6. The program is part of the Verizon Innovative Learning education initiative that addresses barriers to digital inclusion and is a key program under Citizen Verizon, the company’s responsible business plan for economic, environmental, and social advancement. The Verizon Rural Young Women Program was launched to provide underserved young women with the opportunity to explore STEM subjects, learn problem-solving skills, and consider career opportunities in technology fields by providing mentorship, access to technology, and hands-on training. Students can learn design thinking, 3D printing, augmented reality, and social entrepreneurship. Registration is open online.
