Indiana Cutters Host Quad City Titans in BGFL Opener
The Indiana Cutters Semipro Football Team Host the Quad City Titans in the Battle Ground Football League Season Opener Saturday Night at 7 PM at Danville HS in Danville Indiana. The Cutters went 0-2 in the preseason and are ready to call Danville Home for the 2021 Season. This will be the first ever home game for the Cutters in Danville at Hendricks Regional Health Field at Warrior Stadium. “I am excited for our team to have that challenge. Everyone has to travel here since we have no players on roster from Danville even though it’s a home game”. Head Coach Eric Anderson said. The Titans are a first-year team based out of Linton Indiana. “New opponent we don’t know much about them, so what we are going to go is focus on us”. Coach Anderson Said. The Cutters have shown promise on both sides of the ball scoring 28 points in 2 preseason games. The Defense has had several takeaways in both games so far. This will be the first of eight regular season games in the Battle Ground Football League with 10 teams competing this season.
Edgewood Faces Northview in Danville Baseball Regional
Edgewood will face Northview tomorrow at 2 pm in the 2nd semifinal of the Danville Baseball Regional at Danville High School in Danville Indiana. The Game was to take place at 11 am but Edgewood requested the game be moved back so its Seniors could attend Graduation ceremonies tomorrow morning. Edgewood beat Sullivan 7-0 Monday Afternoon in the Championship Game of the Owen Valley Sectional. Indiana University Baseball Commit Luke Hayden was efficient throwing 99 pitches resulting in a no hitter and had 18 strikeouts. Edgewood is 19-8 and Northview a Western Indiana Conference foe is 17-4. Indianapolis Bishop Chatard and Brebeuf Jesuit will play in the first semifinal at 11 AM. The Championship Game is scheduled for 8 PM Tomorrow Night.
Boys State Track Finals at Ben Davis Today
The Boys State Track and Field Finals will be held at Ben Davis High School on the Westside of Indianapolis. Action gets underway at 3 PM with Pole Vault, Long Jump and Discus. The final event of the night is the 1,600 Meter Relay at 8:30 PM. 10 Athletes and 3 Relay teams will represent Monroe County in this years State Championships. Bloomington North will have its 4X400 Meter Relay and 4×800 Meter Relay teams. JaQualon Roberts will compete in the 400 Meter Dash. Broc Murphy in the 300 Meter Hurdles. Mason Childers and Griffin Bruce will compete in the 800 Meter Run. Ethan Teske in the 3200 Meters, Bailen Murphy in the High Jump and Matt Grannan in the Shot Put. Bloomington South will have De’Andre Black in the 110 Meter Hurdles, Murry Ross-Harman in the 400 Meters, Ryan Rheam in the 3200 Meters and the 4 x 400 Meter Relay will compete. Bloomington South will compete in the 4X 800 Meter Relay. Chloe Rolen will be busy as she has the 110, 300 Meter Hurdles and the Pole Vault. Emma Callahan competes in the 1600 Meter Run. Amiyah Davis competes in the 400 Meters. Abby Bethea in the 800 Meters and Lilly Myers in the 3200 Meters. Edgewood is represented by Sisters Annalyssa and Clara Crain in the 3200 Meters.
