Indiana Men’s Basketball Play in The Bahamas as Part Foreign Tour

Indiana Men’s Basketball will play Eastern European Club BC Mega of Belgrade Serbia August 13th and 15th at the Atlantis Report on Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas. It will be the first foreign trip for the Hoosiers since they went to Canada in 2014. The Trip will Start August 10th and end August 16th.  Teams are allowed one trip every four years per NCAA Rules. The Hoosiers played 3 Games in the Bahamas in the summer of 2007 under then coach Kelvin Sampson and scored over 100 points each time and won by an average margin of 44.6 per game.

2021 Indiana Women’s Soccer Schedule Announced

The 2021 Indiana Women’s Fall Soccer scheduled has been announced. Indiana will a total 20 games with the first two being exhibition games August 8th at Louisville and at home August 12th against Akron. The Hoosiers open the regular season at home against Valparaiso August 19th at 7 PM. The Hoosiers will play eight Non-Conference Games and 10 Big Ten Games. The Big Ten Tournament returns October 27th-31st with the top eight teams making the tournament. The Hoosiers were 6-5-1 in a spring season after the COVID-19 Pandemic forced all fall sports except football to the spring.

Bloomington South Wins Boys Golf Sectional

Bloomington South shot a team score of 288 to win the Bloomington North Boys Golf Sectional at Cascades Golf Course. Bedford North Lawrence was 2nd with a score of 301 and Bloomington North was 3rd with a team score 315 and they will advance to the Providence Regional this Thursday at 8 AM.  Owen Marshall of Seymour was the individual champion with 67 and his teammate Ethan Dippold with a 78 will advance as individual qualifiers. Edgewood was in 5th place with a score 357 as Senior Landon Ringler will advance as individual qualifier with a score of 82.  Lighthouse Christian Academy was 12th with no team score with just 3 members on the team.  

Bloomington North Grad Terry Stotts Out as Portland Trail Blazers Head Coach

Bloomington Native Terry Stotts is out as the head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers after nine seasons. Stotts is the 2nd winningest coach in Trailblazer’s history with a 420-318 record and led Trailblazers to 8 playoff appearances.  The Trail Blazers were eliminated in Game 6 of the Western Conference First Round by the Denver Nuggets. Stotts was the first ever Indiana All Star out of Bloomington North in 1976 and Played at The University of Oklahoma from 1976-1980. Stotts has a career record of 517-486 he coached Atlanta from 2002-04 and Milwaukee 2005-2007 and has 10 Playoff Appearances. The Blazers made to the Western Conference finals in 2019 where they were swept by the Golden State Warriors.  Stotts was inducted in the Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
