Armond Hill Named IU Men’s Basketball Director of Basketball Administration

Armond Hill has been the Indiana University Men’s Basketball Director of Basketball Administration. Hill brings close 50 years of experience as player and a coach. Hill is a native of Brooklyn New York and played at Princeton from 1972-76 scoring 1,056 Points. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks with the 9th pick in the 1976 NBA Draft. Hill Coached at Princeton 1991-95 and then Columbia University from 1995-2003 before being an NBA Assistant Coach for 15 years.

Indiana Pacers Fire Head Coach Nate Bjorkgren After One Season

The Indiana Pacers have fired head coach Nate Bjorkgren after one season. The Pacers were 34-38 in the regular season and Lost to 8th Seed Washington in the Play in Tournament. The Pacers beat Charlotte in the first game of the play in tournament but their streak 5 straight years in the playoffs ended. Bjorkgren was hired to replace Nate McMillian but he struggled with the temperament needed to deal with his players and staff as head coach. McMillian is now the Interim Coach with the Atlanta Hawks and they are playing the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals with the series tied at 1-1. Bjorkgren was an assistant with Toronto and Phoenix also was a head coach in the NBA G-League.   

Indiana Women’s Soccer Adds Maryland Grad Transfer Sidney Staier

Indiana Women’s Soccer has added Maryland Grad Transfer Sidney Staier to the program for the 2021 fall season. Staier played in 61 games and made 46 starts with Maryland. She scored her first career goal against Ohio State this past spring and had 2 assists her junior season. Staier is native of Springfield Virginia and will have one season with the Hoosiers after all athletes were given an extra year due to the COVID -19 Pandemic.

Indiana Men’s Soccer Adds Goalkeeper Nathan Gabris

Indiana Men’s Soccer has added Goalkeeper Nathan Gabris to the 2021 Fall Roster. Gabris is 6-0 175-pound Goalkeeper from Lafayette High School in Wildwood Missouri. Gabris is the 8th member of the 2021 class and plays club soccer for St Louis FC Academy.  The Hoosiers are fresh off its 16th National Championship Game appearance in May and 21st College Cup Appearance The Hoosiers got good news when Redshirt Senior Spencer Glass announced he will return this fall. The Hoosiers have made 34 straight NCAA Tournament Appearances and 44 overall. Indiana won its 17th Big Ten Regular Season Championship and 15th Big Ten Tournament Conference Tournament Championship this spring after the fall season was canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
