Former Indiana University Swimmer Lilly King Punches her Ticket to Tokyo

Former Indiana University Swimmer Lilly King has punched her ticket to the Tokyo Olympics Next Month. King won the 100 Meter Breaststroke with a team of 1:04:79 at the US Olympic Trials in Omaha Nebraska. King won the Gold Medal in 2016 Rio Olympics the 100 Meter Breaststroke. The time was the 4th fastest time of her career. King Outlasted 17-year-old Lydia Jacoby will be the first ever Olympian Swimmer from Alaska. IU Pro Teammate Annie Lazor who swam for Auburn finished 3rd, Lazor has been training with King in Bloomington since 2018. King who is Evansville Native and has been training in Bloomington Since she finished her eligibility in 2019 is the world record holder and clear favorite in the event setting the time of 1:04:13 at the 2017 World Championships.

Grace Berger and Team USA’s Face the US Virgin Islands in AmeriCup Quarterfinal

Indiana University Rising Senior Grace Berger and Team USA Face the US Virgin Islands in the FIBA AmeriCup Quarterfinal today at 12:10 PM in San Juan Puerto Rico. The USA finished 3-0 in pool play and there Tuesday night game with Argentina was canceled due to COVID-19 issues with Argentina. Canada and Dominican Republic will play at 3:10 PM. Brazil and Venezuela face off at 6:10 PM and Puerto Rico and Colombia are in the nightcap at 9:10 PM. All Four Games are on ESPN+. The Winners will go to Friday’s Semifinal Round with the 3rd Place and Championship Games on Saturday.    

Bloomington South Finishes 4th In Boys State Golf Finals

Bloomington South finished 4th in place with a score of 620 after at the Boys State Golf Finals at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.  The Panthers shot 44 over par which was 14 strokes back of the leaders. Center Grove won the state title with a team score of 606, Guerin Catholic was 1 stroke back at 607, Carmel was 3rd at 612 and Zionsville was 5th with a score 626. Kash Bellar of Peru won the Indvidual State Championship shooting a 69 for the second straight day to finish 6 under par with a total score of 138 which was 8 strokes better than runner up Jacob Modleski of Guerin Catholic who shot a 146.

Indy Eleven Head Coach Martin Rennie Let Go by The Team

Indy Eleven Soccer Head Coach Martin Rennie was let go Wednesday following a 1-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC Tuesday Night. Rennie was into his fourth season with the team where they were 3-4-1 with 10 points and his overall record was 42-31-19. Rennie was 2-2 in the postseason in his time with the club. The Indy Eleven are back in action Sunday when they travel to Sporting Kansas City II at 5 PM.
