Two IU Vice Presidents stepping down
Two highly accomplished senior leaders at Indiana University are stepping down from their posts, IU President Michael A. McRobbie has announced. Vice President and CFO John Sejdinaj will retire from IU at the end of August. Since 2016, Sejdinaj has served as the university’s top fiscal officer, coordinating budgetary and financial issues across all of IU’s campuses. Additionally, John Whelan, IU’s first vice president for human resources, will leave IU to become vice president for human resources at Yale University beginning Aug. 1. Whelan joined IU in 2014 as the chief human resources officer. In 2018, his position was elevated to vice president for human resources at the university, which is one of Indiana’s largest employers with more than 21,000 employees across the state. IU will announce interim replacements for both positions at a later date.

Brown County Music Center releases revised schedule
The Brown County Music Center in Nashville, Indiana has just announced a new show to its 2021lineup; An Evening With Mary Chapin Carpenter, Marc Cohn & Shawn Colvin: Together in Concert will be held Sunday, November 7, with tickets going on sale this Friday, June 18 at 10am. The venue has reopened, and has rescheduled many of their previously postponed events. This year, the BCMC will feature acts such as LeAnn Rimes, Melissa Etheridge, Christopher Cross, Warrant, Kenny G, and 38 Special. City Accepting Applications for Federal Funding from Agencies Impacted by Pandemic
The City of Bloomington Housing and Neighborhood Development Department invites Bloomington-based social service agencies that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic to apply for federal funds HAND administers through the Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program.  Applications for this funding through the U.S. Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act are available at the City’s website.   HAND staff will be available to provide technical assistance to prospective applicants on Tuesday, June 22 and Wednesday, June 23 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. EDT via Zoom each day.  Organizations must submit applications by email to hand@bloomington.in.gov by Friday, July 2 at 4 p.m. in order to be considered for this round of CDBG funding. This round of approximately $650,000 in CARES Act Community Development Block Grant Program Special Program Funding comes on top of the approximately $250,000 in federal relief funds HAND distributed last summer, and approximately $1 million in CDBG funding the City has already allocated through its regular annual distribution of CDBG funding in 2021.
