Indiana Cutters Hold Off Stateline Seminoles 20-14

The Indiana Cutters are 2-1 on the season after holding off the Stateline Seminoles 20-14 at Danville HS Saturday Night. “Will Take it” Head Coach Eric Anderson Said. The Seminoles played with just 10 Players the entire game “They gave us all they had and gave us a good strategy; game plan and they came to play with the ten they had and had us on the ropes” Anderson Said. The game was called with 11:39 left in the 4th quarter after Laz Bolton scored a 1-yard touchdown for the Cutters to give them the lead when a Seminoles player got ejected for an unsportsmanlike penalty leaving them with 9 players left on the field.  “It was back and forth game hard hitting” Anderson Said.  The Seminoles scored first on 34-yard touchdown run with 23:3 seconds left in the 1st quarter. The Cutters got on the board when they drew Seminoles back to the end zone on a 4th and 4 at their own 10-yard line to get the safety to make it 6-2. Cantrell Harris took a 40-yard punt return to the house to make 8-6 with 2:10 left in the 2nd quarter. The Seminoles scored on 24-yard touchdown pass and 2-point conversion to make 14-8 with 8:30 Left in the 3rd quarter. Sidney Moore who had a fumble on the first Cutters drive in the 3rd quarter redeemed himself with a 25-yard touchdown run to tie it up with 16 Seconds left in the 3rd quarter after the conversion was no good. Bolton added the touchdown run and that was the ball game.” We are still trying to find our way and could of easily gave up or went the other way but we stayed together kept pushing and knew were going to finish strong” Anderson Said. The Cutters will hit the road this Saturday to take on the Kentucky Cardinals in Bardstown Kentucky.   

Grace Berger and Team USA Win AmeriCup Gold

Indiana University Rising Senior Grace Berger and Team USA Beat Puerto Rico 74-59 on Saturday Night to win the Gold Medal of the FIBA AmeriCup Tournament in San Juan Puerto Rico. It’s the fourth time that the US has won the event and second in a row. The Americans went 6-0 this time and have 30-7 overall record. The Top 4 Teams USA, Brazil Puerto Rico and Canada qualify for one of four qualifying tournaments for the 2022 FIBA World Cup. Berger played 4 minutes in the gold medal game was 0-1 from the field with a rebound and a block.  The USA beat Brazil 71-60 in the Semifinals Friday Night. Berger played 4 minutes was 0-1 from the field and pulled down 1 rebound. For the Tournament Berger scored 31 Points, 6.2 PPG, pulled down 19 Rebounds, 3.6 RPG, dished out 11 Assists, 2.2 APG, 6 Steals, 1.2 SPG and had 1 block.  Berger was 11-26 from the field for 42%, 0-3 from downtown and 9-11 from the field for 81 Percent.

IU Athletics Announces 100% Capacity for Fall Events

Indiana University announced a return to 100 percent Capacity for all Fall Sporting Events in 2021.  The 2020-2021 School year was most unusual due the COVID-19 Pandemic. Football Started in October while all other fall sports were moved to the spring and all events were closed due to the general public with only players families allowed to attend making Assembly Hall, Memorial Stadium Bart Kaufman Field and all other venues near empty. Even when Restrictions were lifted in Mid-May. IU did not allow fans for the Final Baseball Series of the year or the Little 500 which was held in late May due to the Pandemic.  

Bloomington South Swimmer Kristina Paegle Finishes 36th in US Olympic Trials

Bloomington South Rising Senior Swimmer Kristina Paegle Finished 36th in the 50 Meter Freestyle at the US Olympic Trials in Omaha Nebraska. Paegle had a time of 25.89 with was just 07. off her wave one time. Pagele advanced to the Wave II trials this week after she finished in the top two in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events.  Only 6 swimmers her age or younger finished ahead of her in the 50 Freestyle.
