Indiana Football Gets Two More Commits for 2022

Indiana Football received Verbal Commitments from Defensive Back Trevell Mullen and Linebacker Isaiah Jones. Mullen is younger brother of Current Indiana Defensive Back Tiawan Mullen who will be a junior this fall and an All American. The younger Mullen 6-0 and 146 pounds from Coconut Creek HS in Coconut Creek Florida. Mullen Chose the Hoosiers over 16 others including Auburn, Florida, Miami and Oregon. Jones is 6-2 and 215 Pounds from London HS in London Ohio. Jones chose the Hoosiers over 8 other schools including Ball State, Cincinnati and Minnesota. The Hoosiers have 5 commits for the 2022 class they cannot sign a national letter of intent until December 2021 or February 2022.  

Edgewood’s Annalyssa Crain Named 2021 Miss Indiana Track and Field

Edgewood’s Annalyssa Crain has been named 2021 Miss Indiana Track and Field. Its an award given by the Indiana Track Coaches Association and is in recognition of outstanding achievement.  Crain finished 2nd in the 3200 Meters at the State Track Meet at Ben Davis HS Earlier this Month. Her younger Sister Clara finished 5th in 3200 meters. Crain will Attend the University of Illinois in the fall.

Edgewood’s Taylor Minnick Competes in Indiana North-South All Star Softball Game

Edgewood’s Taylor Minnick scored the tying run as she helped the South All Stars beat the North All Stars 4-3 Saturday at Decatur Central HS in Indianapolis. The teams normally play a doubleheader but weather Saturday Morning caused a 3-hour delay and took it down to a single game.  Minnick will attend Indiana University to play for coach Shonda Stanton next season. Minnick was perfect in the field and was named first team All-State and was the 5th player from Edgewood to play in the all-star game.  Edgewood Softball Coach Mick Hammett received the 2021 Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association Service Award.

Yogi Ferrell in the NBA Western Conference Finals with the Los Angeles Clippers

Former Indiana University Star Yogi Ferrell is in NBA Western Conference Finals with the Los Angeles Clippers. Ferrell did not play in Game 1 as the Phoenix Suns beat the Clippers 120-114. Ferrell has played in 6 postseason games so far averaging 1.5 minutes per game and averaging 0.3 points per game. Ferrell played in 10 regular season games averaging 13.7 minutes per game and scoring 5.6 points per game. Ferrell was all rookie 2nd team in 2017 and has played for the Dallas Mavericks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets Sacramento Kings and The Clippers. Ferrell was 2012 Indiana All Star out of Park Tudor HS in Indianapolis and played at Indiana University from 2012-16.
