Indiana Cutters Fall to the Kentucky Cardinals 20-6

The Indiana Cutters fell to the Kentucky Cardinals 20-6 Saturday Night at Nelson County High School in Bardstown Kentucky for the Cardinals first win of the season. The Cardinals scored on 7-yard touchdown run with 14:54 Left before halftime to make it 6-0. 2 plays later Blair Brouff scored his second touchdown run off the season with a 14-yard run with 13:48 left before half to tie it up 6-6. The Cardinals marched down the field on a 2 play 75-yard drive and scored on 43-yard touchdown with 13:59 left the in in the 3rd quarter to make it 12-6. After the Cutters could not get a punt off the Cardinals had the ball at the Cutters 21-yard line and scored on that play 14:14 left in the fourth quarter to make it 20-6 as the Cardinals were 0-3 on two-point conversions. The Cutters defense had 3 sacks with Dre Key getting to the quarterback twice along with one from DJ Clayton. Cantrell Harris had his 2nd interception of the season.  The Cutters are 2-2 and the league will take a break for the 4th of July Holiday. The Cutters are scheduled to host the Joliet Buccaneers on Saturday July 10th.

Edgewood’s Luke Hayden Shines in Game 1 Of Indiana North-South All Star Baseball Series

Edgewood Grad and Incoming Indiana University Freshman Luke Hayden pitched 3 innings, struck out 7 batters, gave up 5 walks and allowed no hits or runs as the South All Stars beat the North All Stars 5-3 in Game 1 of the Indiana North-South All Star Baseball Series at the University of Evansville Saturday afternoon. Hayden Started and got the win for the South in Game 1. The South won Game 2 Saturday 7-6 and finished the sweep Sunday afternoon winning 7-5 at Bosse Field. The North Leads the All-Time Series 68-66.

Indiana Women’s Basketball Adds Georgia Grad Transfer Caitlin Hose

Indiana Women’s Basketball added Georgia Grad Transfer Caitlin Hose to the program. Hose played in 61 games and started 13 games in 3 years at Georgia. Hose scored a career high 14 points a sophomore against Gardner-Webb. As a freshman she averaged career-bests 2.7 points, 1.9 rebounds in 13 minutes. As a sophomore she played 29 games, making 9 starts averaging 2.5 points, 1.7 rebounds in 13 minutes. as a Junior Hose averaged 1.7 points in 7 minutes per game in 12 appearances. Hose is 5 -10 guard from Hazel Green Alabama and led Her high school to the 6A State Championship Game all four year and won the state title as senior. The Hoosiers will return all five starters from last years Elite 8 team and providing some depth after losing 6 players in the off-season 5 of those to transfer and one to return to their home country to play professional basketball. Incoming Freshman Kaitlin Peterson and Keyarah Berry join Hose as Hoosier Newcomers.

Rick Carlisle Coming Back to The Indiana Pacers as Head Coach

The Indiana Pacers are bringing back Rick Carlisle as head coach. Carlisle coached the Pacers from 2003-2007 and was a Pacers Assistant from 1997-2000. Carlisle has coached the Dallas Mavericks the past 13 season before leaving that role earlier this summer. He was 555-478 with the Mavericks and won the 2011 NBA Championship. Carlisle won the Central Division title in 2003-04 with a 61-21 record along with a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals had 181-147 with record with his first stint with the Pacers.  The Pacers fired Nate Bjorkgren after one disastrous season after he replaced Nate McMillian. McMillian is coaching the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals.
