Indiana Football Lands Verbal Commitment from Tight End Ryan Miller

The Commitments keep coming for Indiana Football as Tight End Ryan Miller announced he will call Bloomington Home for College. The 6-6 215 pounder from Chagrin Falls Ohio he played at Kenston High School. Miller chose the Hoosiers over Louisville, Kentucky, Kansas, Iowa State, Georgia Tech, Boston College, Auburn, Tennessee and West Virginia. The Hoosiers have 8 Commitments for the 2022 class and they cannot sign a national letter of intent until December or February 2022 when the National Signing Periods take place.  

Indiana’s Gabbi Jenkins and Logan Taggart Named Big Ten Sportsmanship Honorees

Indiana University Softball Senior Gabbi Jenkins and Track and Field Senior Logan Taggart have been named the 2021 Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship award winners. 28 Athletes total one male and one female from each of the 14 Big Ten Schools are chosen. Jenkins batted .331 and stole 24 bases as she became the career stolen base leader for the Hoosiers with 96. Jenkins had 18 doubles on the year which set the Single season record at IU. Jenkins hit 3 home runs this season and was named all Big Ten Second Team and All Defensive team. Taggart arrived in Bloomington as graduate transfer from Central Michigan. Taggart missed the indoor track and field Season with an injury but return for the outdoor season to place 5th in the Hammer Throw at the Big Ten Championship and 29th in NCAA East Prelims in Jacksonville Florida.  One Member of each varsity team on every Big Ten Campus was chosen by his or her institution as sportsmanship award honoree and two are selected from each institution.

Indiana University Water Polo Alums to Compete for Canada in Tokyo Olympics    

Indiana University Water Polo Alums Shae (Fournier) La Roche and Jessica Gauderalt have been named to Canada Olympic Water Polo Team for the Tokyo Olympics. This will be the First time since 2004 that Canada has competed in Women’s Water polo at the Olympics. 10 Nations will compete in Tokyo and Canada qualified winning the Sliver Medal at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima Peru.  La Roche (Fournier) played from 2011-14 scored a program record 305 Goals and 2nd in school history with 311 Career Steals. She also set single season records for goals scored with 95 in 2014 and 83 in 2013. Gauderalt played from 2013-18 as goalkeeper she finished with 975 saves, 97 steals, 35 assists, 777 goals against in 117 games.  

Indiana Women’s Soccer Adds 2 To Coaching Staff

Indiana University Women’s Soccer has named Tim Verschuren as Assistant Coach and Kevin Schenk as Volunteer assistant Goalkeeper Coach. Verschuren served as an assistant coach at Fairleigh Dickinson for the last two seasons. He helped lead the Knights to an overall record 14-9-6 and 12-2-3 record in conference play.  Schenk was at the University of Dubuque as a Graduate assistant Goalkeepers coach where the Cougars were 6-3-1 with 4 shutouts in this 2020-21 season. In 2019 his team went 12-5-6.
