Ellettsville Journal to shut down after 80 years
The Ellettsville Journal has announced that it will be closing up shop with its last publication slated for August 4, 2021. The local paper has been serving the community since 1939. In 2011, ownership transferred to its employees, but it was eventually sold to Gannet Co. Inc, a national conglomerate who publishes hundreds of newspapers, including 15 in Indiana. Gannet stated that they are still committed to serving the Ellettsville community by shifting resources to the Herald-Times, another paper under their umbrella.

Indianapolis Indians announce increased capacity
Beginning this Thursday, July 1, Victory Field, home to the Indianapolis Indians, will operate at full capacity without restrictions. Masks are no longer required outdoors at Victory Field and are no longer required indoors for unvaccinated individuals, although they are strongly encouraged by heath experts. On June 30 last year, the Indians’ 2020 season was officially canceled due to the pandemic, meaning exactly 365 days will have passed between the 2020 season cancellation and The Vic reaching full capacity. The team’s first homestand in May was capped at 25% capacity, and each of its last two homestands from June 1-6 and June 15-20 topped out at 50% capacity. To purchase tickets, visit IndyIndians.com or contact the Victory Field Box Office at (317) 269-3545 or Tickets@IndyIndians.com.
