Indiana University Football lands Notre Dame Offensive Lineman Pat Coogan Indiana has made a massive addition to the 2025 roster. Literally and figuratively. 6-foot-5 and 310-pound Notre Dame starting center Pat Coogan announced he will play for Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers in 2025. Coogan entered the transfer portal following Notre Dame’s appearance in the national championship game and visited Indiana this week. He picked IU over Ole Miss, Michigan, and others.
Behind Coogan, Notre Dame finished the 2024 season 19th in the nation with more than 200 yards per game rushing. Per PFF, Coogan played 813 snaps this season and was the team’s second highest-graded pass-blocker with a grade of 79.0 on the season. He had a 69.0 grade in run-blocking. Both grades were improvements over 2023. Coogan brings versatility to the interior of the IU offensive line. He started 13 games at guard for Notre Dame in 2023 and has played in 30 career games. He played 769 total snaps in 2023 and posted 64.7 pass blocking and 65.2 run blocking grades. Coogan has one-year of eligibility remaining. A product of Palos Heights, Ill., Coogan attended Marist H.S.
Coogan was a consensus three-star recruit by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals coming out of high school. He was the No. 38 offensive guard nationally and No. 6 player from Illinois by Rivals. And he was the No. 29 offensive tackle nationally and No. 15 player from Illinois by 247Sports. Indiana previously added Ohio State tackle Zen Michalski and Colorado boomerang transfer Kahlil Benson at offensive line via the transfer portal over the last month. Returning is guard Drew Evans, who started nine games before an Achilles injury, and 13-game starters tackle Carter Smith and guard Bray Lynch. The Hoosiers lost center Mike Katic and tackle Trey Wedig to eligibility following the 2024 season.
Indiana Pacers Forward Pascal Siakam named 2025 NBA All-Star Veteran Indiana Pacers power forward Pascal Siakam has been named to the list of NBA All-Star reserves in the Eastern Conference. It’s a big moment for the 6-foot-8 standout, who now makes his third squad. Siakam joins Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown (who just made his fourth All-Star team), Detroit Pistons point guard Cade Cunningham (his first), Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard (his ninth), Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland (his second), Miami Heat shooting guard Tyler Herro (his first), and Cavaliers power forward Evan Mobley (his first). During the TNT broadcast, Hall of Fame former NBA power forward Charles Barkley and cohost Ernie Johnson expressed surprise that Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young was omitted from this year’s batch in the East. Young’s Hawks have lost six games straight, which may have impacted NBA coaches’ voting (although their streak wasn’t quite so bad when final ballots were submitted). League coaches vote on All-Star reserves. The veteran forward has made the team for the first time with Indiana. He is the Pacers’ lone All-Star representative this season.
Point guard Tyrese Haliburton, an All-NBA Third Teamer last year, missed out on making what would have been his third consecutive All-Star squad. Siakam is what we’re celebrating now, however. Across 46 games for Indiana this year, Siakam is averaging 20.5 points on .532/.318/.743 shooting splits, along with 7.3 boards, 3.5 dimes, and 0.9 steals per bout. His 41.8 percent 3-point conversion rate, on 4.3 long range attempts a night, represents a career high for the 2019 NBA champ. Siakam will join a starry squad as a 2025 East All-Star reserve. Nine-time All-Star Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard, four-time All-Star Boston Celtics Finals MVP small forward/shooting guard Jaylen Brown and two-time All-Star Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland are the only other three multi-time inclusions in the conference. That quarter will join first-time All-Stars Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons, shooting guard Tyler Herro of the Miami Heat, and Garland’s Cleveland teammate, power forward Evan Mobley.
