Fort Wayne Snider Offensive Lineman DJ Moore Commits to Indiana
Fort Wayne Snider Offensive Lineman DJ Moore has committed to Indiana University Football for 2022. Moore is 6-5 315 pounder and one of the top 10 players in the state of Indiana. Moore picked the Hoosiers over Ohio State, Penn State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Oregon and Purdue. Indiana now has 3 Offensive Lineman in this class with Bray Lynch and Carter Smith. Moore becomes the 3rd player from Indiana to Commit to the Hoosiers Joining Lawrence North Wide Receiver Omar Cooper and Athlete Dasan McCullough from Bloomington South. The Hoosiers have 12 commitments in the class of 2022. All Commitments are verbal commitments until they sign a National Letter intent in December this year or February 2022.  

Four Indiana University Baseball Players Taken in 2021 MLB Draft
Four Indiana University Baseball Players were selected in Monday’s Major League Baseball Draft that is being held Denver Colorado in conjunction with the MLB All Star Game that will be held this evening.  All Four Hoosiers that were drafted are pitchers. With the 79th overall pick in Round 3 the Colorado Rockies took McCade Brown. Gabe Bierman went to the Miami Marlins with the 209th overall pick in Round 7. Matt Litwicki went to the Boston Red Sox with the 286th pick in Round 10 and Tommy Sommer went to the Chicago White Sox with the 305th pick in the 10th round.  Indiana University has had 108 players drafted in Draft History and Brown becomes the 18th Indiana University player to picked in the top five rounds. The MLB Draft will conclude today with Rounds 11-20 beginning at Noon Eastern Time.

Two Indiana Baseball Signees Taken in 2021 MLB Draft
Indiana University Baseball Signees Colson Montgomery and TJ White were selected in the 2021 MLB Draft in Denver Colorado.  Montgomery was selected with 22nd overall pick by the Chicago White Sox Sunday Evening. Montgomery is a 6-4 190-pound Shortstop from Southridge High School in Huntingburg Indiana and led the Raiders to the Class 2A State Championship this season. Montgomery has signed with IU but he could forgo college and sign with the White Sox for $ 3.03 million Dollars which is the value of that pick at that selection in the draft. White was selected by the Washington Nationals with the 143rd overall pick in the 5th round Monday. White is 6-2 210-pound Outfielder from Dorman High School in South Carolina. If White signs with the Nationals he could make $ 382.70 Thousand Dollars. Players will only have a couple weeks to decide if they want to come to school or go to the pros.  

United States Wins the FIBA Under 19 World Basketball Championship
The United States beat France 83-81 to win the FIBA Under 19 World Championship in Riga Latvia. Purdue Sophomore Jaden Ivey led the Americans with 16 points in 23 Minutes and Purdue incoming freshman Caleb Furst scored 4 points in 9 minutes and 35 seconds of action. Ivey played 115 minutes, scored 86 points and averaged 12.3 points in 7 games. Furst played 85 minutes, scored 50 points and averaged 7.1 Points in 7 games.  The United States finished 7-0 and won their 8th Gold Medal in 15 tournaments. Canada beat Serbia 101-92 to win the Bronze Medal.  Purdue Sophomore Zach Edey scored 12 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Canada who finished 6-1 in the tournament. Edey who is 7-4 and from Toronto played 166 minutes, scored 106 points and pulled down 99 rebounds in 7 games. Edey had double-double in six of the seven games in the tournament.
