Indiana Cutters Beat Indiana Tornados 18-16 in Instant Classic
The Indiana Cutters beat the Indiana Tornados 18-16 in Saturday Night’s Battle Ground Football League Game at Danville HS and will down as instant classic in the latest chapter between these two Semi Pro Football Rivals. The Tornados Scored on 8-yard touchdown pass with 36.4 seconds left to take the lead 16-12. On the kickoff Cantrell Harris took it 57 yards down to the Tornados 23-yard line. “It started with special teams a lot of good blocks and Harris finds the lane up the left side” Head Coach Eric Anderson said. Sidney Moore threw a pass intended for GaJuan King toward the endzone that was called a defensive pass interference that gave the Cutters the ball at the 2-yard line. Torrell Williamson was taken down for a loss of 4 yards. Sidney Moore ran for 4 yards getting down to the 3-yard line and Cutters calling timeout with 4.1 Seconds left.  Bloomington South Grad Marquise Holt got the ball and behind the offensive line blocking was able to get in end zone with no time left and give the Cutters the victory. “The score goes to the lineman everybody on the offense wanted to run it and give to Holt and lineman pushed and Holt found his way in and sealed the deal but it’s a huge team win start to finish” Anderson Said.  Holt had 11 carries for 50 yards, Sidney Moore was 12-29 for 129 yards 2 touchdown passes and 2 interceptions and GaJuan King was the leading receiver with 5 receptions for 67 yards. The Tornados ran the ball 33 times for 87 yards scored first on a 32-yard touchdown run with 3:34 left in the first quarter and 2-point conversion good to make 8-0. The Cutters responded when Sidney Moore found Torrell Williamson on a 12-yard touchdown pass to make 8-6 with 13:46 before halftime. Williamson had 7 carries for 34 yards and that 12-yard touchdown was his only reception of the night. In the 3rd quarter Moore connected with Bloomington North grad Andrew Franklin on 10-yard pass with 11:56 left to make 12-8 and Franklin caught his 2nd pass of the game after Moore found him on a 4-yard pass earlier. “The offense was sound and offensive coordinator Jared Mallot called a great game and we executed it and at the end of the day the hogs sealed it out at the end and I love seeing that” Anderson Said. The Cutters did not score on either 2-point conversion. The Cutters Defense forced a fumble with Tay Wells recovering and Racquill Nunn got an interception as the Tornados were 10-26 146 yards passing for 1 touchdown along with the interception. The Cutters finish the home portion of the regular season with a perfect 4-0 record on Hendricks Regional Health Field at Warrior Stadium. “It’s Awesome they earned it that’s the thing I love that they have not been given to us and we have had to earn them all and hopefully we are becoming a stronger team because of it” Anderson Said.  The Cutters are now 4-2 on the season and hit the road to take on the Kentuckiana Calvary next Saturday in Jeffersonville Indiana.

Indiana Pacers Coach Rick Carlisle Names Coaching Staff
New Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle names his coaching staff. Lloyd Pearce, Ronald Nored, Jenny Boucek and Mike Weinar have been named assistant coaches. Pierce comes to the Pacers from the Atlanta Hawks where he was coach for two and half seasons and currently an assistant with Team USA as they prepare for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.  Nored played at Butler University returns to the state after spending three seasons as an assistant coach with the Charlotte Hornets. Boucek comes from Dallas as she severed the past three seasons as an assistant coach and Weinar Joins the Pacers after 13 seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, four as an assistant coach and was a part of teams 2011 championship run.

Indiana University Graduate Josh Rawitch Named President of Baseball Hall of Fame
Indiana University Grad Josh Rawitch has been named the next president of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown New York.  Rawtich will begin his new job September 9th replaces Jeff Idelson who was interiem president.  Rawitch spent the last 10 years with the Arizona Diamondbacks, six of them as the team’s Senior Vice President of content and communications. Rawtich spent 15 years with the Los Angeles Dodgers, working his way up from marketing intern to Vice President of Communications. In between he worked in public relations improving his skills in marketing to help improve the Dodgers gameday experience for Dodgers Fans. Rawitch also spent time in the Dodgers front office as a beat reporter for the Dodgers team website.
