Catalent to terminate 130 Bloomington positions this week

Catalent announced “approximately 130 positions” will be terminated at their Bloomington operation through an internal email, delivered on Wednesday morning.

As you know, our site has spent the last two years recovering from the lasting effects of the pandemic and transitioning to a post-COVID operation,” said Vice President and General Manager, Anibal Carlo.

Carlo went on to state that the “post-COVID ledge” has resulted in an approximate 85% decrease in revenue, and that a third-party review of the business concluded that the “organization’s headcount is not aligned with [Catalent’s] future demand and business needs.”

He said that the company has made the difficult but necessary decision to eliminate the 130 positions at their Bloomington facility.

Impacted employees will begin to be notified immediately, and all layoffs should be completed by Friday of this week. All employees not contacted by Human Resources are to continue to report to work.
