Indiana Women’s Basketball to Host NC State in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

Indiana Women’s Basketball will host NC State in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge Thursday December 2nd at Simon Sjkodt Assembly Hall. Time and Television will be announced at later date. These two teams meet in the Sweet 16 in San Antonio Texas on March 27th with the fourth seed Hoosiers knocking off the top seed Wolfpack 73-70. This will be the sixth all time meeting between the two with NC State leading the series 4-1. The Wolfpack won in Bloomington 50-44 on November 23rd, 2001. Indiana is 8-5 all time in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and 3-3 at home and this will be the first time they have been at home in the Challenge since hosting Louisville in 2017.

Andrew Capobianco Finishes 10th In 3 Meter Springboard at Tokyo Olympics

Indiana University senior to be Andrew Capobianco finished 10th in the Men’s three-meter springboard Diving event at the Tokyo Olympics Tuesday with a score of 401.70. Capobianco made the final by finishing 10th in the semifinals with a score of 419.60 and was 17th in the prelims with a score of 385.50. The 21-year-old from Holly Springs North Carolina won a sliver medal with 2018 IU graduate Michael Hixon in the 3-meter springboard synchro event at these Olympics. 

Shae (Fournier) La Roche Scores 2 Goals for Canada in Loss to United States

2014 Indiana University Graduate Shae (Fournier) La Roche scored 2 goals for Team Canada as they lost to the United States 16-5 in the Quarterfinals of the Women’s Water Polo Tournament at the Tokyo Olympics. The 29-year-old from Winnipeg Manitoba has started all five games for Canada and scored seven goals. The United States led 5-0 when La Roche scored the first goal for Canada with 2:27 left in the first quarter. La Roche added her 2nd goal with 1:49 left before halftime with Canada trailing 10-3.  Canada which finished 1-3 in pool play will play a consolation semifinal round game Thursday in Tokyo against Australia at 6:20 PM Local Time.  

Indiana Men’s Basketball Adds Walk on Shaan Burke to 2021-2022 Roster

Indiana Men’s Basketball announced they have added 6-3 Freshman walk on Shaan Burke to the Roster and will wear number 11 for the cream and crimson. Burke played at Vista High School in San Diego California and averaged 14.7 Points and 5.7 assists in his final high school season. Burke is 19 years old and has enrolled in the Kelley School Business to study Finance.  Burke will join Nathan Childress, Sebastien Scott, Michael Shipp as one of four walk-ons for the 2021-22 season.
