Man sentenced for threatening Jewish lives in 2022
67 year-old Andrezj Boryga of Indianapolis, has been sentenced to two years in federal prison, followed by two years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to willfully transmitting in interstate commerce threats to injure other people, and for choosing his victims because of their religion. In 2022, Boryga left voicemails at Anti-Defamation League offices throughout the country, threatening to assault or kill Jewish people.

IDOH concludes 2024 summit
The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) just completed their two-day “Labor of Love” Summit with more than 50 panels and informational sessions addressing women’s health, teen pregnancy, and infant wellbeing. The event which was attended by hundreds of physicians, nurses, caregivers and public health officials, was kicked off by the Indiana State Health Commissioner launching of a new agency online dashboard that tracks birth outcomes and infant mortality in the state. This year’s summit also aimed to help local health departments implement new solutions.

Jackson County Fair runs until Saturday night
Billed as one of the world’s biggest County Fairs, the Jackson County Agriculural Far & 4-H Exhibition is underway. The event which typically attracts over 100,000 patrons throughout the week will run until Saturday evening. Tonight, at the Grandstand from 7-11pm, The Battle of Bluegrass Pulling Series

Indiana Attorney General reports 96% appeal success
In the first six months of 2024, The Indiana Attorney General’s office has reported that they prevailed in 96% of their appeals. Of the 863 cases that led to decisions, the state was successful in 831 of them, including 253 civil cases and 610 criminal cases. In a press release, Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita expressed gratitude to Angela Sanchez, Chief Counsel of Appeals, as well as her entire staff.

Roller Derby comes to Btown
Roller Derby comes to town on Sunday, August 4th at noon at Bloomington’s Western Skateland. The Central Kentucky ROCK come to town to challenge the Booming Blockheads. You’ll need to Pre-order tickets and while some seating is available, it is advised to bring your own lawn chair.
