Indiana University Announces 2021-22 Swimming Schedule
Indiana University Announced the 2021-22 Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Schedule. The schedule features dual meets against 10 teams that finished in the top 25 at the 2021 NCAA Championships and five meets at the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatic Center. The Season will kick off with the Cream and Crimson Intersquad Meet on October 1st. The first official meet of the season will be a Women’s only tri meet against defending Southeastern Conference Champion Kentucky and Indiana State on October 6th. The 2022 Big Ten Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships will be held February 16th-19th in Madison Wisconsin. The 2022 Big Ten Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships are February 23rd-26th in West Lafayette Indiana. The 2022 NCAA Women’s and Men’s NCAA Championships will be held the McAuley Athletic Center on the Georgia Tech Campus in Atlanta that played host to the 1996 Olympic Games. The Women’s competition is March 16th-19th and Men’s March 23rd-26th.
Indiana Women’s Soccer Host Western Michigan and Southeast Missouri State
Indiana Women’s Soccer hosts Western Michigan at 7 PM tonight and Southeast Missouri State at 7 PM Sunday Night. The Hoosiers are coming off a 1-0 loss at Memphis on Sunday. The Hoosiers are 2-1-1. The Hoosiers have scored 2 goals in four games and true freshman Goalkeeper Jamie Gerstenberg has given up 1 goal in 4 games with 3 shutouts. Western Michigan is 2-2 on the season with wins over Detroit Mercy 5-1 and IUPUI 4-0 at Home. The Broncos Road losses are at Louisville 6-2 and Michigan 4-0. Southeast Missouri State are 2-2 and play at Evansville Tonight. The Redhawks beat Maryville 4-1 and Missouri St-Louis 1-0 at home and road losses to Memphis 4-0 and Mississippi State 1-0.
Ball State Football Hosts Western Illinois Tonight
Ball State Football Kicks off the football season this evening when Western Illinois comes to Scheumann Stadium for at 7 PM Kickoff on ESPN+. Ball State is coming off one of the best seasons in school history. The Cardinals went 7-1 and won the Mid-American Conference Championship and their first ever Bowl Game with a 34-13 victory over San Jose State in the Arizona Bowl on New Year Eve. The Cardinals return 20 starters and 10 of 12 all MAC Selections from a season ago. Western Illinois leads the all-time series 3-1 and this will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2000. The Cardinals have won 11 straight home openers dating back to 2010.
Josh Burton Memorial at Bloomington Speedway Tomorrow Night
The Josh Burton Memorial will be held tomorrow night at Bloomington Speedway. MSCS Sprints, Modifies, Super Stocks and MMSA will be on in action. There will be fireworks display after the racing concludes. The Pits open 4:00 PM, Gates Open at 5:00 PM, Hot Laps at 6:30 PM and Racing at 7:30 PM. This event was scheduled May 28th and was rained out. Burton was a sprint car racer who died in racing accident at Bloomington Speedway in May 2013.
