Indiana Football Travels to Western Kentucky
Indiana Football is back in action tomorrow night at 8 PM when they travel to Western Kentucky to face the Hilltoppers in Bowling Green and the game will be shown on CBS Sports Network. Indiana is 1-2 and coming off at 38-24 home loss against 8th ranked Cincinnati last Saturday afternoon. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr is expected to start after MRI showed that is injured knee is Okay and he is allowed play. Pennix Jr is 42-87 for 448 yards passing with 4 touchdowns and 6 interceptions through 3 games. Western Kentucky is 1-1 on the season with a 59-21 home win against Tennessee-Martin on September 2nd and 38-35 loss at Army on September 11th. This will be the 4th all time meeting between the two teams and Indiana has won all three meetings. This will be the 2nd trip to Bowling Green for the Hoosiers Indiana won September 18th, 2010 38-10. Indiana won in Bloomington on September 19th 2015 38-35 and August 30th, 2008 31-13. The Hilltoppers are in Conference USA and play at Houchens Industries-LT Smith Stadium which seats 23,776 and is field turf. Western Kentucky is calling this game a “Black Out” as they will wear the black jerseys and fans are asked to wear Black.
Bloomington South Home Bloomington North and Edgewood on the Road for Week 6 of HS Football
Week 6 of the High School Football season kicks off with Bloomington South at Home against Southport at 7:30 PM, While Bloomington North travels to New Albany and Edgewood is at Indian Creek and both games start at 7 PM. Bloomington South is 5-0 and is averaging 35.8 points and giving up 14.8 while Southport is 0-5 and coming off a 62-17 loss to Indianapolis Chatard. The Cardinals average 12.8 points and give up 51.6 points. Bloomington North is 4-1 and is averaging 37.4 and giving up 21.6 while New Albany is 3-2 and won a three-game winning streak, The Bulldogs average 32.2 Points and give up 34.6 Points. Edgewood is 1-3 and back after week off in which COVID-19 shut the program down. Edgewood is averaging 23.5 points and giving up 37.0 Points while Indian Creek comes in 1-4 averaging 13.2 points and giving up 31.6 points.
Indianapolis Colts Travel to Tennessee Titans Sunday
The Indianapolis Colts will look to get in the win column this Sunday at 1 PM on CBS when they travel to Nashville to face the Tennessee Titans for a big AFC South Division Matchup. The Colts are 0-2 and quarterback Carson Wentz is questionable after spraining both ankles last Sunday in a home loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Wentz is 45-69 passing for 498 yards 3 touchdowns and 1 interception through 2 games. Johnathan Taylor has rushed for 107 yards on 32 carries and has not scored this season. Michael Pittman Jr is the Colts top Wide Receiver with 11 receptions for 152 yards and no touchdowns. Tennessee is 1-1 losing to Arizona Cardinals 38-13 in Week 1 at home and winning at Seattle 33-30 in Week 2. Tennessee is led by quarterback Ryan Tannehill who is 48-75 passing with 559 yards 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Derrick Henry has rushed for 240 yards on 52 carries and has 3 touchdowns. Julio Jones the Titans best Wide Receiver has caught 9 passes for 157 yards but does not have touchdown this season.
Indiana Field Hockey Host Number 9 Maryland
Indiana Field Hockey will be in action at noon today when they host Number 9 Maryland on the Big Ten Network. Indiana is 5-3 overall and 0-1 in the Big Ten Conference. The Hoosiers lost to Number 2 Iowa 3-0 at home on September 17th. Maryland is 5-2 and 0-1 in the Big Ten as the Terrapins are coming off a 4-3 overtime win against Princeton on Tuesday. Maryland lost its Conference Opener 3-2 in overtime against Number 8 Penn State on September 18th at home. Maryland is one of the best programs in Field Hockey winning 8 National Championships and 5 runner ups. Indiana has not beaten Maryland since joining the Big Ten. Indiana will travel to Ball State Sunday at 1 pm for a matchup with the Cardinals.
