Indiana Football Shut Out at Penn State 24-0

The Indiana Hoosiers Football team had a rough Saturday night losing 24-0 at 4th ranked Penn State. It’s the first time since 2000 that the Hoosiers have been shut out and it has scored just 6 points in its first two Big Ten Games. Penn State is 5-0 overall 2-0 in the Big Ten and travels to 5th ranked Iowa this Saturday. IU Cornerback Taiwan Mullen was out for this game with a lower leg injury that he suffered in the game at Western Kentucky. Indiana had chances to get points on the board and were denied. After Rayheem Layne picked off Sean Clifford giving the Hoosiers great field position, Indiana went for it on 4 and 1 near the goal line when they came up short on a running play. In the 3rd quarter Kicker Charles Campbell’s field goal was blocked by the Penn State defense. Penn State Quarterback Sean Clifford 17-33 passing for 178 yards 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Jahan Dotson was 8 passes for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns, Dotson also threw a pass for 21 yards. Brenton Strange caught his only pass of the night for a 10-yard touchdown.  Michael Penix Jr was 10-22 for 118 yards with interception and was sacked. Penix went out of the game in the 3rd quarter with a left shoulder Injury. “It’s his throwing shoulder We’ll do more test to determine what the issue is his health is number 1”. Indiana Head Coach Tom Allen Said in his post-game press conference. Backup Quarterback Jack Tuttle came in and was 6-12 for 77 yards passing and interception. Tuttle was sacked on his first play in the game. “Jack gave us a spark I don’t Know about that last throw (Interception) I like what I saw He ‘s good player”. Allen Said. Indiana only had 82 yards rushing with Stephen Carr getting 55 of those on 15 carries. Peyton Hendershot led the Hoosier receiving core with 5 catches for 88 yards.  The Hoosiers 2-3 and 0-2 in the Big Ten have a week off before hosting 5-0 Michigan State on October 17th for homecoming. This bye week comes at the right time for the Hoosiers who have several players banged up on both sides of the ball. “With the bye week we’ll get guys healthy, get ourself in the right mindset to move the ball on offense and win games in this conference” Allen Said.

Eight Thousand Fans Attend Hoosier Hysteria

After 574 days Indiana University Basketball fans were finally back in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall as the 2021-22 College Basketball season kicked off with Hoosier Hysteria. Eight Thousand Fans were treated to a 2 hour show in which there were Videos, T Shirts thrown into the crowd, Women’s and Men’s Basketball coaches Teri Moren and Mike Woodson addressed the crowd. NBA Hall Of Famer and member of the 1981 Indiana National Championship team Isaiah Thomas addressed the crowd and the current players reminding them that all of Bob Knight’s players graduated and that he left early and came back to graduated later. “Were Back” Coach Teri Moren Said. She wanted every fan to turn to each other and give each other a high five and say Let’s go because “I have a feeling we are going to do a lot of that this year between both teams”.  Coach Mike Woodson who scored 2,062 career points from 1976-1980 Said “It’s good to be home, this is not about Mike Woodson its about the 17 players that wear the Indiana Uniform”.  Then it was time for the three contests of the event. Parker Stewart and Grace Berger won the three-point contest. Rob Phinesse and Mackenize Holmes won the Skills Contest and Trayce Jackson-Davis wowed the crowd by winning the slam dunk contest. Mike Woodson was mic’d up when the team was put through full court shooting drills. “Snap the pass, Create space. Come on pick it up Let’s go”.  The Men’s Basketball team opens the Season November 9th against Eastern Michigan and the Women’s will host the University of Indianapolis November 5th in an exhibition game.

All Three Monroe County High School Football Teams Fall in Week 7

It was a rough night Friday for all three Monroe County High School Football teams as they are suffered defeats in week 7 of the High School Football Season. Bloomington North suffered a 56-13 loss to the Number 1 team in Class 4A Indianapolis Roncalli. The Cougars trailed 35 -6 at halftime and scored a 65-yard touchdown run from reserve Nolan Coy.  Bloomington North is 5-2 and will host Columbus North 4-3 this Friday night.  Bloomington South the number 3ranked team in Class 5A lost 31-10 at Columbus North for the first the defeat of the season. The Panthers 6-1 are looking for a game this week after there scheduled home game with Hammond Morton Saturday has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns within the Hammond Morton program. Edgewood lost to Sullivan 45-0 on the red turf in Ellettsville Friday Night and quarterback Jakob Lanning dislocated his elbow in the first half of the game and will miss the rest of the season. Andrew Good will take over and lead the 1-5 Mustangs this Friday Night when they travel to Northview to take on the 5-1 Knights.

Indianapolis Colts Get Their First Win of The Season Over the Miami Dolphins

The Indianapolis Colts beat the Miami Dolphins 27-17 Sunday afternoon in Miami for the Colts win of the season after 0-3 start. Carson Wentz went 24-32 passing for 228 yards and 2 touchdown passes to Mo Allie-Cox to get the Colts the Win. Allie-Cox who was a basketball player at Virginia Commonwealth caught 3 passes for 42 yards. Michael Pittman Jr led the receiving core with 6 catches for 59 yards. Johnathan Taylor ran the ball 16 times for 103 yards and a touchdown and Rodrigo Blankenship added 2 field goals. Miami was led by former Indianapolis Colt Jacoby Brissett who was 20-30 passing for 199 yards and 2 touchdown passes to DaVante Parker and Mike Gesicki. The Colts shut down the Dolphins rushing game holding them 35 yards on 16 Carries. Miami is 1-3 and 0-2 at home they travel to Tampa Bay next Sunday. Indianapolis will travel to Baltimore Next Monday Night to face the Baltimore Ravens 8:15 PM on ESPN
