Indianapolis to New York flight forced into emergency landing
A plane which originated in Indianapolis performed an emergency landing and evacuated its passengers and staff on the airport taxiway Sunday afternoon. American Eagle Flight 4817 was forced to execute the emergency landing yesterday at LaGuardia Airport due to the ‘suspicious behavior’ of a passenger, which allegedly included bomb threats. All passengers and staff were successfully evacuated, and Port Authority Police found nothing on the plane following a thorough search. The airport quickly resumed normal operations, despite the unfortunate disruption.
Downtown Bloomington trees get wrapped for Middleway House
Middleway House celebrates 50 years in the Bloomington community with the beginning of their annual Wrapped in Love Public Art Display outside of the Monroe County Courthouse lawn. The event adorns trees throughout downtown Bloomington with tree sweaters crafted by local fabric artists. Just as Middle Way House wraps survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in warmth and support, fabric artists lovingly created tree sweaters for dozens of downtown Bloomington trees. The tree sweaters will be prominently hung throughout numerous locations in the heart of Bloomington and feature our 24/7 help & crisis line phone number, (812) 336-0846, in hopes of raising awareness about domestic violence. The public art display will span nearly six months, coinciding with the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness month in October and end March 1st, 2022. Tree sweaters are sponsored by a business, person, or organization committed to helping provide meaningful alternatives to living with violence.
All knitters, crocheters, and other fabric artists are invited to join. Please contact 812.333.7404 or events@middlewayhouse.org.
