Indianapolis teacher banned from building over social media post
Indianapolis Public Schools Science Coordinator, Instructional Coach, and Administrator Tony Kinnett has been forced to work from home for exposing teaching methods in a Tweet which recently went viral. In the video, Kinnett outlined how Critical Race Theory is actually being taught in Indianapolis schools, and stated that the District is “lying” when they deny the fact.
‘We do have CRT in how we teach, said Kinnett in his social media post. “We tell our teachers to treat our students differently based on color”
Kinnett, an award-winning teacher, stated that Indianapolios Public Schools has not only forced him to work from home, but has also limited his access, locking him out of the District email account as well as their Google Cloud-based server. He also mentioned that his key card to enter school buildings has been turned off. When he was escorted into his former office to retrieve some belongings, each employee in that building was allegedly called in advance of his arrival.
The only reported explanation Kinnett has been provided for the District’s actions toward him is that some other members of the staff have claimed to have ‘clinical anxiety’ over working with him.Kinnett has been quoted as saying that other teachers are ‘terrified’ that he is going to pull out a phone and record their classes.
Kinnett disclaimed his actions by stating that he has only released public information.
ISP investigating Wayne County Officer-involved shooting
Indiana State Police are investigating an Officer-involved shooting over the weekend near the 500 block of E. South Street in Centerville, Indiana. A 911 call came into Wayne County Emergency Dispatch around 6:30 Sunday evening that a woman was threatening suicide. Once arriving at the scent, the Centerville Officer encountered a woman sitting on the front porch of a residence who began yelling at the Officer. The officer attempted to check on the woman when he realized she was holding a weapon.
The officer took cover behind his police car and began issuing loud verbal commands for the woman to drop the weapon, ISP said. The woman allegedly returned inside the residence before returning and pointing the weapon directly at an Officers. A Sheriff’s Deputy fired one round from his rifle, hitting the woman.
A report states that both Officers at the scene provided medical attention to the woman until Medics arrived. The woman was transported to a Richmond, Indiana, hospital before being flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. There is no current update on her condition.
Both officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave, per department policy. The names of the suspect and officers involved will be released in a later update.
