Indiana doubles down on Iowa as both Men’s and Women’s BB claim victories
Indiana Men’s Basketball beat 8th Ranked Iowa 67-65 in Assembly Hall Sunday Afternoon. Armaan Franklin hit the game winner with 1.6 Seconds Left to sweep the season series with the Hawkeyes. The Hoosiers Travel to Northwestern on Wednesday 9 PM on the Big Ten Network.

It took a 10-0 Hawkeye run to open the second quarter for IU Women’s coach Teri Moren to make the match-up changes necessary to control a high powered offense like Iowa, but it worked as the Hoosiers bring home the victory with a final score of 85-72. Moren said, “I liked the poise that the team showed while down during the first half,” and that led to a well balance of great play on both sides of the court. Sophomore Forward MacKenzie Holmes, once again, directed the paint, sinking 12 of 17, and finishing with 25 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots; while Ali Patberg had a second consecutive huge game of offense, adding 23 points. IU Guard Nicole Nicole Cardano-Hillary was also invaluable yesterday, starting in place of Senior Jaelyn Penn, who just recently announced that she was opting out of the remainder of the basketball season. The 17th nationally ranked Lady Hoosiers advance to 11-4 on the season and 9-2 in the conference. Next up, IU hosts Penn State on Wednesday evening.
