Lady Hoosiers dismantle Wisconsin
Your 11th nationally ranked Lady Hoosiers make it six consecutive wins, bringing their record to 15-4 on the year, and 13-2 in the Big Ten Conference. Last night’s 77-49 victory on the road against Wisconsin demonstrated many of the key factors which have catapulted Indiana to the national limelight: strong defense, points in the paint, rebounds, great ball movement, and teamplay which includes solid minutes from the bench. Sophomore Forward Mackenzie Holmes led all with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks, as she made her way back into the team’s offense after a couple of games being held to single digit productivity. One of the biggest surprises last night was the full-court pressure IU applied for most of the second half. Hoosier Coach Teri Moren told us, “we saw an opportunity to turn it up defensively by applying early pressure to make their ball holders uncomfortable.” This was a look that Indiana rarely shows, and one has to contemplate if they felt they needed a little practice on the press in advance of this weekend’s game against 15th ranked Ohio State. OSU was the last loss suffered by the Hoosiers and have always given IU difficulty. Coach Moren said, “we are looking forward to having another opportunity to play [Ohio State].” She added, “we will have to solve the problem of playing against the zone,” making reference to the zone defense the Buckeyes challenged them with last month.

Indiana was led in scoring by Trayce Jackson Davis 21 Points and 11 Rebounds and Al Durham added 20. IU is 12-11 overall and 7-9 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers Host Michigan Saturday at Noon on Fox.
