Indiana Cutters Rolls Over Quad City Titans 43-0 in BGFL Opener

The Indiana Cutters Semipro Football Team shutout the Quad City Titans 43-0 in the Battle Ground Football League Season Opener Saturday Night at Danville HS in Danville Indiana. “It was an awesome game to play in and did a lot of things Well” Head Coach Eric Anderson Said.  The Cutters scored on 5 of their 6 possessions with only possession they did not score on was at the end of the game.  Eight different Cutters carried the ball 28 times for 139 yards and 2 Touchdowns.  Sidney Moore was 10-13 passing for 89 yards with 1 touchdown pass and no interceptions. Moore found GaJuan King on a 30-yard pass 8:29 to go before Halftime. King had 4 Receptions for 49 yards along with the touchdown pass from Moore. The Defense held the Titans to negative 67 yards of total offense. The Titans had 17 carries and all but 5 of those were zero or negative yards and were 0-5 passing with 2 interceptions along with 3 fumbles. Nick Land had 3 sacks and Cassion Henry added 1. Cantrell Harris had a 42-yard interception return for a touchdown. Isaiah Moore had 31-yard fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. DJ Stephens who played at Bloomington South had an interception.  Marquise Feldman had a 25-yard field goal as the first half expired and hit 2 out of 4 extra point attempts “Consistent kicking game is what coast us in the playoffs last year because the other team had a consistent kicker and ever since we found out that he can kick he has been kicking them in practice and it paid off tonight and all comes down to work” Anderson said.  The Cutters had a fumble on a punt return which was the only Cutters Turnover of the Night but Coach Anderson was pleased with how his team played. “We Played a much cleaner game than we did 2 weeks ago and it showed tonight”.  The Cutters hit the road this Saturday to face the Fort Wayne Wolverines who beat the Elkhart Panthers Saturday Afternoon. Coach Anderson is looking forward to this matchup. “This is very competitive league and we want that challenge and they are favored and we are going to go up there and try our best” Anderson Said. The Game will kick off at 4 pm at Haven Hurst Park in New Haven Indiana which is just east of Fort Wayne.

Edgewood Loses Northview in Danville Baseball Regional Semifinal

Edgewood Baseball had their season end Saturday afternoon with a 10-0 loss to Northview in the Class 3A Regional Semifinal at Danville HS. Dylan Zenkto threw a 4 hitter and struck out 13 Mustangs.  Northview had an 8-0 lead after 4 innings and added 2 more in the sxith. Edgewood ends the year at 19-9. Northview lost in the Regional Championship Game Saturday night to Brebeuf 17-2.

Carmel Wins Boys State Track and Field Championship Bloomington North Ties For 12th Place

Carmel scored 68 Points and won the Boys State Track and Field State Championship at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis on Friday. Brownsburg was 2nd with 40 points, Center Grove was 3rd with 38 Points, Fishers was 4th with 32 points, Harrison West Lafayette and Warren Central tied for 5th with 24 points.  Bloomington North scored 15 points and finished tied for 12th with Marion.  The Cougars finished 2nd in the 4X400 Meter Relay with a time of 3:19:81 and 3rd in the 4×800 Meter Relay with a time of 7:49:58. JaQualon Roberts finished 18th in the 400 Meter Dash. Broc Murphy was disqualified in the 300 Meter Hurdles when he impeded with the runner in lane 1. Griffin Bruce Finished 21st and Mason Childers 24th in the 800 Meter Run. Ethan Teske finished 25th in the 3200 Meters, Bailen Murphy finished 11th in the High Jump and Matt Grannan finished 19th in the Shot Put. Bloomington South did not score in the meet as De’Andre Black finished 26th in the 110 Meter Hurdles, Murry Ross-Harman finished 12th in the 400 Meters, Ryan Rheam finished 23rd in the 3200 Meters and the 4 x 400 Meter Relay team finished 19th.

Indianapolis Cathedral Wins Girls State Track Championship

Indianapolis Cathedral scored 39 points to win the Girls Track and Field State Championship at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. Warren Central was 2nd with 38, Zionsville third with 33, Indianapolis North Central and Lawrence Central tied for 4th with 32 Points. Edgewood finished 22nd with 13 points as Sisters Annalyssa and Clara Crain finished 2nd and 5th in the 3200 Meters.  Bloomington South Finished 35th with 8 points Amiyah Davis was 2nd in the 400 Meters.  The Panthers were 11th the 4X 800 Meter Relay.  Chloe Rolen was 12th the 110-meter Hurdles 10th in the 300 Meter Hurdles and 11th the Pole Vault. Emma Callahan was 25th in the 1600 Meter Run.Abby Bethea was 26th in the 800 Meters and Lilly Myers was 21st in the 3200 Meters Bloomington North was 40th with 5 points as the Cougars were 13th in the 4X 400 Meter Relay and 16th in the 4x 800 Meter Relay. Ella Francis was disqualified in the 300 Meter Hurdles when she impeded with another runner. Bea Cakmak was 23rd and Nola Somers Glen was 24th in the 800 Meters Hadley Lucas was 5th in the Discus Throw and 19th in the Shot Put and Stephanie Nicola was 20th in the Pole Vault.
